  • anyone tried this yet?

  • Hmm...Well, you're using an external midi gear to control your ipad...It's quite a common thing that everybody does here for years :)
But yeah, we all agree here that's a cool thing to do :)

Just wait for the worldwide MPC Live users to wake up :D

I'm practically doing the same with a Digitakt and an old iPad Mini sitting in an iTrack Dock which can mix the audio of both.
When i need high synth polyphony and a large audio buffer, I'll add a cheapo stereo digital delay pedal to the Digitakt's output to make the audio be in sync again.
(When I'm sequencing in Groove Rider and sync both via MIDI clock, I don't need the delay pedal because GR can correct into negative latency (the first note will be delayed due to audio buffers but after half a second after hitting Play on the Digitakt, it's gonna be tight).

Ahhhhhh he said your favorite fat boy :D :D
Yeah I’ve tried it. Pretty dope setup. Was better when I had the MPC Live, should have kept it. 🤦🏾‍♂️

No, because I am over my yearly budget on gear....but maybe Santa will help me experience this joy! LOL

    I feel you sir

  • Good stuff, sir. I get some latency when trying to record synched audio. Have you dealt with that? I was thinking sampling with a low threshold should make it work.

Also, do you know where that MPC Live iPad holder came from? I need that in my life.

I wanted the X and traded my live for it. I should have kept it and bought the X but I thought having both wouldn't make sense. I love the X no doubt but miss the battery powered and portability of the Live. I probably will get another one and just keep the X in the studio only.

I got no latency at all also I just used the picture from the internet sorry bud

  • I'm working on a similar project, although I plan on using an Akai Mpk Mini mk2 with a bluetooth Midi adapter, a battery bank, and an iPhone 5/6
(A 6s or SE would have been great with iOS 13 but I can't seen to find any for cheap)

Well it routes midi from mpc to BSP(which sends cv) and lil erebus. It receives audio from eurorack and yamaha cs6x(midi out2 sends to cs6x), hosts AU synths and FXs and sends the mix to mpc. When i get interface with more inputs, i will also send mpc audio to aum and send some aux channel to mpc for sampling. I also sync mpc with AUM via ableton link.

And yes, ice cold water is the key ;)
