Apple Arcade: Monomals — Anyone tried this?
This is such a brilliantly polished game with arcade and puzzle elements, with the object of collecting “monomals”, which are basically sounds to use in the game’s separate music sequencer mode — which reminds me of an advanced Mario Paint, with 3 tracks - drum, lead, bass ..
I haven’t hit a max length wall yet. over 64 bars anyway (possibly 128?) .. I believe you’re stuck in 4/4, but can change tempo .. and load/save and create as many different songs as you like. I believe you’re limited to two or three octaves on the piano roll, but I may be mistaken. Individual notes can be any length (quantized to grid) with 3 velocity levels, and you can multi-select a chunk of notes to easily move them around the grid.

Anyway, just thought I’d share, as I noticed it hadn’t been mentioned here before. It could be an fun way to introduce kids to music production...or, more likely, for grown “kids” to mess around with.
Too bad it doesn’t support IAA though! It’s got some great sounds from what I’ve discovered so far.
