Mellotron sounds question - Mellowsound, Beathawk

So I have the Mellowsound app which sounds great, but it is rather too realistic in that each sample only sustains for a certain length of time.
Beathawk Mellotron IAP is currently on sale, does anyone know how it compares to Mellowsound and if the samples will sustain Indefinitely?

Comments

  • BeatHawk Mellotron does not loop, either.
The only one with loop option that I know of is the Omenie versions.

  • I wonder if I could use something like Chameleon (which I don’t yet have) to record sounds from Mellowsound and make new instruments, with looping??
Streetlytron (which does loop the samples) is not AUv3 otherwise I’d get that.

  • Don't play mellotron sounds longer than 8 seconds or else the sky will fall.

  • The vintage purist in me agrees, but the contemporary realist just gets 😠

Yeah you can totally do that.
Chameleon has Loop mode, with custom loop start/stop points.
    Really easy to setup.

I knew that if you play a Mellotron note for more than 8 seconds, the earth stops spinning ... who will be right? You took away one of the few certainties I had ...

depends on the model that you are playing. A Chamberlin is going to let the earth collapse into a black hole.

Gosh! do you by chance have a list of all the catastrophic consequences based on the Mellotron models? would be very useful to me.

  • And whether or not the same consequences apply to iOS versions thereof?

  • I set up some Tanpura drone loops in Chameleon to practise trumpet against and it was a doddle.

Good point. We should open a thread about this...
