Multi-FX processor Flux from 4Pockets coming very soon.

From Facebook:

Checkout the preview video of my new Multi-FX processor Flux coming very soon.

The plugin allows you to create patterns containing multiple effects which are triggered on beat boundaries. Patterns can be contuously looped or you can chain multiple patterns into a song. The advantage of this is that you can for instance add a delay to a particular vocal phrase rather than have a continuous delay effect on the entire vocal. You could add varying harmonies using the pitch effect or create gated stutter effects on specific parts of a string section. Alternatively you can load a set of presets and quickly sqitch through them in real time.

The possibilities are endless...

  • Thanks @White

Is this anything to do with the Adrian Belew promoted app?

    Looks/sounds very interesting and promising!!

  • Reminds me of Sugar Bytes-style effects sequencer, as in Egoist or Effectrix
    Tempting... :yum:

    Is it like effectrix?

  • Awesome! Thanks @White

  • Not impressed with 4pockets support. There are a number of bugs in their last app, the multi tracker.

Emailed support a week ago with a bug list, never got a reply. Obviously busy making the next one.

  • Or they're crap at responding to emails I guess. I haven't bought the multi-tracker yet. I've been waiting until I had something that required it. Should I wait?

Heck yes if it’s universal, I’d love something like effectrix to use on my phone

There was an update on multitrack today

  • I hope he'll turn his attention towards midi AUv3 in the future where there's more of a gap in the market. This looks good but can't see how it would be better than Effectrix?

  • Wondering if 4pockets dev is even sleeping. This guy is working like... uhm.. like 5 guys :-D

It’s potentially one of my top five apps, and normally I’d not hesitate to recommend it, but there are a number of issues I have with it that put me off using it. And when I take time out to list them and email support, I think it’s only polite to expect a reply. Even if it’s just a standard’thanks for contacting us’ thing.

Good to see an update, but at first glance they don’t seem to have addressed any of the issues I listed.

Have you tried contacting him on Facebook? I was able to address an issue with him a while back with DigiStix on there and he took a look at it for me

I don’t really do Facebook. I’ve tagged them on here, tried their support form (broken), so emailed the support address directly. To be honest I’ve got other things to do than play ‘hunt the dev!’

Totally agree.. MIDI AUv3 Recorder/Player/Piano roll will fill a gap..
Looks like it’s price will make a difference with Effectrix..

  • For what I saw in this brief demo, Effectrix seems a lot more deeper than this.
But, I'm a devotee of the Sugar Bytes cult, so I might be a little partial...

For me it has different flavours than Effectrix and is most welcome on the buffet table.

  • It's probably going to be a lot cheaper than Effectrix. I have Effectrix so also will probably sit this out.

  • Looks interesting. Reading the title, I was expecting an option to load your own effects. THAT would have been a real key success factor in comparison with Effectrix...But AU cannot host AU...

True, always nice to have alternate flavours :)

  • Looks good, been looking for an SB Effectrix/Turnado style app for iPhone - hopefully this’ll be Universal.. 😺🎧🚀

Yah the step editing part is mainly the delivery system / automation helper to me. If anything even existing AUfx could implement a step sequencer for their parameters and I would be very happy.

  • Where is the Randomize button ???!!!!!!!! This needs to have randomize at all levels

  • edited November 2019

Loois very interesting. Also ui seems much more usable than effectrix. Even tho its ugly and cheap looking like other 4pocket apps, i bet its a relly good app

  • i have effectrix, but on the list this goes for sure. ive gotten used to the 4P UI and feel I can get some good results out of this bad boy.

  • how would you compare Flux with Cykle?

  • @Sergiu said:

Flux is an audio effect, with step controls for various different effects.

Cycle is a MIDI sequencer with uncoupled lanes for different midi messages (pitch, note on, length, CC, etc)

  • i see...i didn't have time to watch any videos about Flux. Looks interesting!

It doesn’t seem to be. In my opinion, given the existence of the Belew-related app (Flux:FX), this seems like a poor name choice.
