Amplify Groovebox Ableton Link Latency

@AmpifyxNovation there is quite some latency when using Ableton Link which kinda renders the app useless for me as I like to have things perfect in sync.

I made a recording where the left side of audio comes from GR-16 using a rimshot and the right side from Groovebox using a rimshot also and you see in the attached image that the clock of Groovebox is lagging behind(ignore the beatmarkers from Ableton). Can you please provide us with a fix or a offset control for the Link clock? Thank you.

The screen shot is missing the most important number: What's the time difference?
Edit: Is it only Groovebox? Other apps work well?

  • I would have to see how many samples latency there is when I am back home but so far I only seen it with Groovebox, the other apps I have seem fine.

Are you running Groovebox and GR on the same device simultaneously ? Or if on different devices are they both using the same audio latency settings ?

  • yes on the same device and same settings.

  • Is there any Bluetooth in the setup? I experienced something similar when using BT headphones.

I’m using Groovebox on 4 devices with different versions of iOS on each and Link enabled. Pretty much daily.

    There’s no latency.

Edit: Those rimshots don’t look alike. If they are the same sample being triggered from both apps then something very strange is happening.

no using the headphone output of the iPad.

It may be worth trying another recording, and this time also include a rimshot generated from Ableton itself....as a guide for where Ableton thinks the beat is ?

  • As we say later is better than never!!!
Anyway for those who care, the time difference is +44ms (ableton offset seeting in aum) between an auv3 app and an IAA inside AUM (main apps to sync: groovebox by ampify and ruismaker noir or pure acid as auv3. What is weird is that it wasn’t so out of sync before. (Buffer size doesn’t matter)

It does indeed. It’s never been very good.

IMO, their lack of participation on this forum says nothing about their customer support. Lots of developers don’t have the time to participate here.

My reply was referencing direct requests for support written to them away from this forum. I think many people who have contacted them will have had the same experience.
Aside from that- they did pitch up on the forum at one time and pledged an ongoing presence for communication and support with the users. This lasted only a few months where only some queries were answered and others ignored before disappearing all of a sudden with no indication was about to happen. A while later they resurfaced out of the blue announcing that they were ‘back on the bus’ only for the same thing to happen again.
