Audio Import IAP: Blocs Wave, Launchpad, or both?

(UPDATE: Apparently I can't setup the poll correctly, or edit it... apologies).

The pro-version IAPs for both apps, enabling audio import, are on sale. Do folks see benefit in buying the pro for one, the other, or both? They seem quite overlapping, but maybe I'm missing something critical?

If both, why?

I bought the pro tools for blocs wave after I played with it for 3 hours straight. That was roughly a year ago. I got the launchpad pro tools in this sale, mainly because I wanted to play around with the live tools. So far, they’re a lot of fun. Don’t regret getting them, but to me they feel less essential than the BW pro tools, but that’s because I use BW to sketch out most of my ideas.

    Thanks, very helpful!

  • BlocsWave.

You don’t need any pro feature for launchpad if you use BlocsWave as you can export your BW project to launchpad even if you have the free version of LP.

Once exported to LP you can make it switch back to BW to change loops at any time.

I mainly stick with BW but sometimes it’s nice to have the whole Grid on the screen at once.

I haven’t really ever missed not being able to import directly into LP as it’s so easy to go back to BW to add/edit the loops then export back to Lp.

  • Did the same thing as @Pitje. I'll also recommend Blocs Wave unlock. The bonus effects from Launchpad won't give you as much value as the unlock from Blocs Wave. If you want to do advanced looping, send the stems you did on Blocs Wave into GarageBand.

Again, I don't regret the unlock. I'm actually looking forward to what I can do with all three apps. Ampify created something phenomenal with the three apps and I felt after a year of using it, they deserved it.
