Korg nanoKontrol Studio's select buttons in AUM?

I wonder which midi controller for AUM is the best for me: Novation LaunchControl XL or Korg nanoKontrol Studio. As I want to be mobile with my gear I like the Bluetooth connectivity of the Korg device. But it is also very important to me to be able to have knobs for FX sends. Well, the Korg has got Bluetooth and the Novation has got many knobs...

Is there a way to switch the assignment of the knob during operation? If yes, could I then cycle between pan, mix bus 1, mix bus 2 ? I know there is the scene button for that purpose but did anyone try if this works flawless? Any strange side effects when changing the scene that would destroy the live session?

Well I've seen there is also Akai Midimix, but here on the forum owners said they regret buying it because of the small knobs. I know the LaunchControl might be of better quality but for the sake of being wireless on the go...

    LOL, my old unanswered question. Well, I actually bought the LCXL and I must say I hardly use it. I additionally bought a used nanoKontrol 2 for 20 bucks because it is more portable. TBH I ended up using mostly the latter because it uses less space on the desk and does the job. Normally I don‘t adjust FX levels so often, so the FX sends are not so much missed. It’s quite neat to be able to quickly adjust levels or push solo, mute or arm and using the transport. All that the NK2 can do and it is also natively supported by Cubasis 3 and Korg Gadget. I actually never did all the Midi learn with AUM - too much hassle and if you rearrange your channels then you have to do it again. No, I think native support is an absolute must have or the device is useless. Additionally I bought a used AKAI APC 40 which is huge but it is actually a real DAW control surface. I’m using it with Loopy Pro and Bitwig.

    If you are a Korg Gadget user I must say that the NK2 and the nanoKeys Studio are an absolute dream team. Both devices are natively supported. I think the nanoKontrol Studio as well. Having these devices with Gadget gives you a super fluid workflow that really lets you focus on your creative flow. With just these two devices you can work a lot just with the hardware. This is my goto setup when composing. The NKS automatically follows the key you select in Gadget and auto maps the 8 knobs to the most important synth parameters - how cool is that. When mastering and mixing with Cubasis, the NK2 serves me well, too.

    So, this is my recommendation: just get a used nanoKontrol 2, save money and be creative.

    I also love my NanoKontrol2, although I never use it as a DAW controller. Right now I use it with Koala, and I’ve written the various FX next to all its knobs and sliders with chalkboard pen.

    The cool thing about Koala is that it remembers your MIDI learn settings, so you only have to do it once.
