    :D

  • I was going to unfriend him but in this day an age
we need to change our reaction to mental health issues.
It's good that it was brought to everyone's attention,
it's also good to see how we react to it as a group.

    Bummer all around.

    People still use Facebook??

    What is that?

  • We received the same type of messages but not recently, probably a month or two ago and it got very threatening so I had to relegate him to the "Spam" area of Facebook Messenger. Was using the same types of threats and was also name-checking big developers who allegedly give them codes for everything.

  • How odd. Looks like he was complaining on Twitter and then bought the app for review.

Have you looked at the "review"? It is basically repeated video posts with ramblings and it continues in the comments section too. He isn't even attempting to make them work, the videos are only slander-vehicles.

I don't know how many of you that also are members of the Audio Unit Extension group on Facebook, but this was just posted in there by Living Memory Software, makers of some of our fave iOS software/instruments.

Basically it is a notorious "blogger" who is harassing them because they don't want to send him promo codes for their apps. If they don't he is threatening to give bad reviews, and counter-information in bad ways instead.

In this latest contact with them he is going as far as threatening them with a lot worse things.
    This has to stop.

If you supporting this particular bloggers web site, YouTube channel or Facebook group you should probably consider unfollowing and unsubscribing, otherwise you are supporting this type of behaviour.

PS. I'll post the post from Facebook as a comment here for those of you who cannot see the original Facebook post

    https://www.facebook.com/groups/1704410769839550/permalink/2510596862554266/

I notice he doesn't have a picture posted or location.....

    shame.

Thank you Mat @Hellquist for the post: I agree this person is obviously not well and needs to seek help. The reason I posted on the Facebook iOS AU group today is because this has been going on for nearly a year and at Living Memory we've been patiently ignoring all correspondance from the person involved, but today it simply went way too far and I thought it right to bring the behaviour into the public domain so that it can be seen for what it is. After all it can affect us and can have a damaging effect too. I've now/since learned he has illness, so I too hope he can get help. However, illness doesn't excuse unacceptable behaviour it just explains it.

So if I send you nudes.......wave shaper code?

    (jk) ;)

Certainly the social media platforms wouldn’t be happy about threats and bribes via their services.

  • I don't see how this doesn't violate a community guideline.

Good point. Reporting it is almost an obligation I would think. Not for desire to do any damage to the perpetrator, but for providing the type of feedback needed by the service to help maintain its standards. Going public so that other developers who may have been seeing the same thing but thinking they're the only ones is also beneficial.

I feel sorry for the person who is doing this, but think it's more helpful to expose the behavior than to ignore it. Tough call, but I think the right one.

  • Holy cow...

A huge sh** videos from this guy.

  • Well shit, I need to unfollow him quickly on the Tube. Not cool of him at all

  • Unfollowed on U tube what was the guy about ! His loss. Think he will regret the backlash.

  • Yeah, I recently tried to calm him down in a comment. Wasn’t even sure what he was going on about but was trying to get him focused on music more than whatever drama he was dealing with

I just watched. I’m beginning to feel bad that I was offended and unfollowed when it’s clear that he needs some help. Not really sure how to help someone like that.

It's probably not super good for us all to be adding fuel to the fire. Best to un-follow, report, or whatever quietly IMO. My experience with people with similar temperaments is public embarrassment can dramatically escalate things. It gives fuel to their feeling that they're being wronged and can lead to more bizarre behavior.

I'm not at all saying it was a bad idea to make this public. I just would just say that we should try to avoid making it appear to this person as if anyone is trying to incite a mob, but rather keep it behind the scenes.

  • Well said @wim

  • It costs absolutely nothing to follow, but unfollowing clearly harms him. He seems unstable, and I think @wim is right. Don't pile on this guy. His threats are not real — let alone coherent.

This measured approach is the way to go.

  • Is this the same guy?

See the mob is out,da lynch squad.@Hellquist awesome job posting everywhere, this is the third or fourth place I’ve seen your nice gesture.Hope you feel good.

Go on people lynch da nutcase, retard or psycho.

The only one who has used the words retard or psycho is YOU Mr. Kkani! Mr. Hay has called out developers and individuals in multiple locations so I see absolutely nothing wrong with defending oneself in multiple locations as well. But you go on ahead with your self-righteous attitude, we will be sure not to come to your defense when you are attacked, cause ya know, we wouldn’t want to be part of a mob now would we!

  • It now makes sense. I recall he was quite active with his site/blog and videos in the past. Then he vanished for some time. I hope he finds the help he needs and stops harassing the devs and publishers

  • Geeze. Everyone in this forum has been nice and understanding. I said I liked this persons videos and I wasn’t kicked out of the forum. It’s hard sometimes but you gotta “brush your shoulders off”

  • I also responded to his ridiculous videos and arguments at his YT channel a few days ago. I unsubscribed immediataly.
