Being an owner of all their previous plugins, I was able to get it for $69. Haven’t had a chance to mess with it though. Waiting on a new laptop to arrive. It’s always fun when a new Sugar Bytes plugin drops. Hopefully there’s an iOS version planned. I’d also like to see Obscurium get the iOS treatment, with the ability to host other AUV3 instruments.

I asked SB about this and they said Obscurium iOS version had been discussed but that it was felt the GUI was too small mobile devices and that it wasn't on their roadmap at the moment due to other projects (like Drum Computer I guess). We can but hope!

So... no Obscurium on the iPhone either, lol? Makes sense. Would love to see this latest gem on the iPad sooner rather than later. But I understand that these things take time and effort. Plus, they need to sell some VST versions to make some money. Though I would seriously pay a premium to get it sooner on the iPad. Because of the touchscreen, AUM, all the great AUv3... but mostly because of the fact that the ipad seems to have become fused with my hand. It’s like BrundleFly in the movie “The Fly”. 🤣

BRAVO SUGAR BYTES! (You’re my favorite sugar on this low-carb diet).

  • This on IOS instabuy...call in sick! All day makin sick sick beat love!

  • got it, playing with it. (osx)
it is fantastic. way deeper (even if it looks deep) than it looks!
    they thought of everything.
    and not cpu heavy somehow.
( my machine is macbook air 2011...:)

  • I can’t remember lusting after an app quite so much as this one. From the Tom Cosm walkthroughs/tutorials, it seem just about perfect. This is definitely the drummer I’ve been waiting for.

It took a full year from Aparillo’s initial release to its iOS release. I hope it doesn’t take our friends at Sugar Bytes that long to port Drumcomputer.

If you own or are thinking of buying Reason 11 Suite you can get similar results with their new Drum Sequencer Player and Umph.

Drum Sequencer Player covers many of sequencer capabilities of drum computer minus random pitch.
    https://www.reasonstudios.com/en/reason/players/drum-sequencer

Umph covers random pitches in the Chop page along with something like random ratcheting.
    https://www.reasonstudios.com/en/reason/instruments/umpf-club-drums

Fortunately or unfortunately this is sample based however.

  • Oh my! I downloaded the demo for Mac... it’s simply an outstanding, marvelous, terrific plugin.
I can’t explain how much I want use it with the iPad. I don’t know how Drambo could be, but this one is incredibly good. For me it’s THE drum machine.
Please, note that I have tried to be objective and not to let the fact that I love SB plugins be weighed...

  • Drambo seems to be a diffrent beast of its own:)
maybe these overlap but not that much ...
And yes- Drumcomputer is a beast of its own...:)

  • SugarBytes for the 🏆. So good with Launchkey Mini Mk3 and Advanced 49.

Still may get another dedicated midi controller with more knobs for this.

  • So in January... Kewl. 😉🤫🤓🤑

Pretty much my take away as well. Whoot! ;)

  • Hmmm. Not really the response I was hoping for. Looks like it could be another year.

  • Sounds like more than just a few weeks to me....

Either they’re being coy, knowing that it’s already in development (We know they like to surprise us). Or they’re speaking literally (it took a full year for Aparillo to be ported to iPad after the initial desktop release). I think they mean what they’re saying and it will be either late 2020 or early 2021. I can’t see them not releasing DC for iPad; it seems made for this platform and would sell like hot cakes.

Tbh, what else are they going to be focusing on after the (well deserved) holidays?!

i reckon there may be a biz strategy involving charts, graphs and calculators.

    Edit: oh and tails

I agree, I don’t see it showing up for a while but I’m encouraged that Nadine is hinting at a
2020 release. After messing with the windows demo I am convinced I need it, badly!

@eross hi, I think that’s if you own all of SBs other Desktop products and are signed in, u can get DC for that price > under your account there should be a Sugar Bundle Upgrade Offer

    cool thanks

  • I will finger Drum Computer A LOT

  • Want need must have

  • I can't see why they wouldn't. This looks phenomenal.

I'm sure it will be ported to iOS but it makes business sense to leave the much higher-priced version out there for a while, knowing that some iOS afficianados will still buy it.
