Great. Okay, (hopefully) one last question for you... I actually do not have AUM yet and obviously I don't have an APC40, but I do have Audiobus and a Korg Nanokey studio. If I want to do something similar with my NKS in Audiobus, I haven't found a lot of information on what I would need to do. It seems like buying either or both the Audiobus MIDI Learn IAP and Midiflow would do the trick? I specifically want to be able to use the 8 knobs and pads on the NKS to trigger different things in separate apps. Start and stop sequences with the pads, and changing things like filter cutoff and resonance with the knobs. Thanks!
It's not that the Audiobus MIDI Learn IAP is expensive, and I doubt you'll need Midiflow, what you might need though is Korg's editor software for your NKS to adjust what the controls will send.

Ah yeah, because the pads always trigger notes. So I'd have to go in and set them as CC values instead?
Exactly.
I tried this when I got home from work today and just enough it's simple enough to assign different parameters from different apps to different knobs. However I've hit a snag in that if I try to use the keyboard, it plays both apps at once. I tested this out with Animoog and Model D together. I tried putting the Animoog on channel 1 and the Model D on channel two that made it so the knobs only worked on one app. What I was hoping to do was have a latched ARP going on the model D, and then play over it with the Animoog without having the Model D pattern change.
Yeesh. What a headache. Thanks again a million times over for all your help with my incessant problems, everyone. Sorry for being so hopeless. This is all dense stuff and it's hard finding answers no matter how much googling I do.
Maybe you can assign different keyboard MIDI channels to different scenes on the NKS.
I'm not sure if that's possible?
Edit: The keyboard MIDI channel is one of the scene parameters so it should be possible indeed.
That did the trick! Phew. Thanks so much my friend.
Great thread ! Anyone rocking dual iPads ?
Thanks !
I would like to trigger the record button while still playing the guitar
I like GB, I make a simple backig track with some drums and keys and let it roll while playing along, after half an hour when I play something interesting I want to record it straight away.
Gotcha. I am certainly not a GB expert but I'm pretty sure you cannot control the transport via MIDI, outside of standard MMC.

I suppose you could use a MIDI helper app to do the conversion from the Blueboard but that’s a rabbit hole.
Just buy AUM.
This is possible with this method, works perfectly!!

That does seem to be the common theme here
I'm happy enough with the solution I figured out with my NKS for now. Now to save up for that APC and I'll have everything I could ever want. Thanks again for the help mate.
PS: Have you seen the AKAI APC Mini? The old APC40 is nice but quite large and the LED rings usually aren't supported in iOS apps anyway.
Actually, what I'm really looking at is the Novation Launch Control XL. The APC Mini looks nice, but I'd rather have more knobs than pads to be honest. Thanks for the tip though, I'll keep it in mind!
Whoops! My bad. I didn't realize the BlueBoard sent MMC.
👍🏼
