Not sure if it applies to this specific case but there’s a feature of NS2 I’m the Mixdown section called “Wait For AUs to Load” with settings ranging from “No” (0sec) to “30sec”.

Had a couple AUs (not from AD) that gave me the same issues before I messed w/ this. Anything non-AD works just fine for me w/ only a 5sec buffer.

    Might be worth a shot?

That setting is mostly for remedying silent AU tracks. If it helps slow mixdowns, it’s a pleasant and welcome surprise.

  • Well, I am back to beating my head against the wall with these mixdowns. I created two new projects and neither will mixdown. I am using a lot of AU plug ins but I've used all of the same ones in other projects that were able to mixdown. So it seems like there is either a limit to how many AU you can have loaded, how many instances of the same AU you have loaded or some weird combinations of certain ones that NS2 doesn't like. I have resorted to loading NS2 into AUM to record the NS2 output in real time. I can do 90% of what I want to do directly inside of AUM . The only thing that I am really using NS2 for is automation. I would just work 100% in AUM and manually ride the faders like people did in the good ol days but but I don't have enough screen real estate to have all of my AUM mixer channels on screen at the same time so that would get cumbersome. Welcome to the wonderful world of iOS music production I guess where you need 2-3 apps to do the job of one app as work arounds for each one's shortcomings.
