best app for quickly trimming audio to grid.. 2bar..4bar..etc
what are the best recording or editing apps for making exact 2 ,4 or 8 bar loops trimmed to grid. preferably on iphone, but ipad two.? basically i want to quickly record and edit exact loops throughout my day, and then i can later import into my Daw later in the evening and build songs.

Audioshare is the app I use
AudioShare is handy and Auditor even better (and much deeper for audio editing). AudioShare is essential for lots of other things. So, you might see if it fits the bill and if not get Auditor.
audioshare. guess i need to dig into that more. where can you setup a 2 or 4 bar length to trim to?
ok i see where to set it to beats. but let’s say i want to select a 2 bar loop, but i want to slide that 2 bar section to another part of the sample and find just the right loop i’m looking for? is that possible? or do i have to move the start end endpoints separately?
Set the left locator to your required start point, trim, open the trimmed file and set the end point with snap to beat enabled
You have to move both end points.
Its Blocs Wave you need. It does exactly what you are looking for very quickly and with no fuss. It’s what it was made for.
I know it is pretty much overkill to use for editing of audio Nanostudio, but it's build in audio editor is perfect for this
enable grid quantisation

set bpm of audio

make sekection, save selection as new file

ohh awesome advice guys. i’m gonna try all these options. thanks!
cool i didn’t know that was still working on ipad. I might have to check that one out.
I'm not running the latest iOS update so please double check, I'm on 12.1.1
Make sure you work in the intended BPM, and use synced or quantized start when recording.
It makes the editing much easier.
You don’t need to pre-trim the head, and beats/bars will line up more accurately with your recording.
There are quite a few apps that are good for doing this type of edit.
