Slice of history - 1979 Top of the Pops (UK)
If you get a chance to catch up on BBC program on 1979 Top of the Pops, I recommend it. Great behind the scenes stuff about the likes of Gary Numan, Madness. The Members and a whole lot more.
Love the bit about the the bands used to try and blag their way into the cheap BBC bar.

Hope they managed to edit out Saville's face, would spoil my experience. Not sure if those out of UK will be able to view it due to BBC restrictions.

God, someone remembers The Members? I used to know the guitarist...
Must confess I knew some of their songs, but wouldn't have been able to tell you who sang them.
Should have added, thanks to Simon for posting the you tube link
Cool! It was really interesting! Where are the other parts?
Yes I remember The Members @PaulB, Nicky Tesco tried to pull my girlfriend at the time at a gig in Camberley. Can't remember her name though!
Just Googled them and they are still going apparently.
Any of you UK guys get to see the Undertones back in the day? They've been one of my favorite bands forever, got to see the new lineup about 5-6 years ago. It was pretty good but I really wished Feargal Sharkey was still with 'em. What a voice.
Nigel (we called him Niggle) was my sister's boyfriend for a while until their manager stole her off him.

Thanks!
