Korg Gadget 2 glide

Hi guys. I'm trying to program acid basslines in Gadget but I cannot do a convincing glide. I tried to search internet but it seems to be that I'm the only one in the world trying it. Any tips ? It was quite disappointing that although Gadget has a dedicated bassline synth Miami, it cannot do a 303-like glide. Any ideas ?
Thanks

  • Miami is for very different type of bass sounds than a 303. Try Dublin instead. Switch on legato and make sure that your notes are a bit shorter than the measure (if your sequence is in 1/16 notes set the note length to somewhere between 1/32 and 1/16) and overlap only when you want the glide. Set the speed of the glide with portamento time.

You can also use drive for a distorted sound and patch Cutoff to the envelope amount in the "patchbay" page.

  • Nice one, I'm definitely going to try it tonight. I was actually going to ask if you people know any good dedicated Gadget forum but judging by the quality of replies I get here, I will just stay here :)

Also, try the Chicago gadget, since it’s kind of a 303 clone. And designed to to exactly this.

Check out Bram Bos Troublemaker as well. It's very very very easy to sequence glides in that. Not Gadget but it's worth a look if you love 303-esque bass, and you should be able to implement it easily enough using Taipei.

  • Agree with @Matt_Fletcher_2000 Chicago seems like the appropriate choice? There is a glide knob, I suppose you could automate it wildly. There’s no glide though, like note glide. That I’m aware of at least haha. Or maybe that’s it?
