How to delete unused audio files from Gadget using only your iPad

edited December 2019 in App Tips and Tricks

To be sure you don't delete something that you actually need, make a copy of your original Gadget project first.

  1. Make sure that you have a list of audio files which are used in the project so you don't delete files you actually need.
  2. Use the Files app to copy the Gadget project (.gdproj2) to AudioShare's location.
  3. Open AudioShare and find your Gadget project. You'll notice that AudioShare shows it as a folder (which it essentially is)
  4. Enter the Audio/Recorded folder and delete unused files
  5. Copy the project back to the Gadget folder

Obviously you'll need AudioShare.

I just had this idea today and it worked great. No need to use my PC and CopyTransApps just for this task anymore.

  • Good tip.
Once it’s in AudioShare, one can also trim the file (in my case the audio file was having a long silent part at the end). Just make sure to rename it to the original name before copying back to the Gadget folder.
