Using Ruismaker’s built in sequencer in AUM... how?

Hi, I can’t seem to get the built in sequencer to show up when using Ruismaker as an AU in AUM. I also tried loading it as an audio plug in plus loading it as a midi plug in pointed to the audio one, but couldn’t get the sequencer to show up.

Am I doing something wrong or will it not work like this?

The AU version doesn't include the sequencer. The Bassline sequencer in the Rozeta suite can be used instead if you have it.

  • Yeh I do have that. Seems a shame you can’t use the built in Euclidean one. I haven’t really looked into the bassline one but from memory it’s monophonic?

Just checked, I think you meant Rozeta rhythm, that seems to be the same concept as the built in rozeta sequencer

Ruismaker and TroubleMaker AU versions don’t have their standalone version sequencers. Ruismaker Noir does because the sequencer is more integral to the sound. If you have the Rozeta Suite, you can add “tracks” in AUM for Rozeta Rhythm and Bassline, respectively, for similar types of sequencers. They’re under regular Audio Unit Extensions, not MIDI Processors like you might expect. Connect the MIDI source from the drop down menu to the left of the Ruismaker or Troublemaker icons in AUM.

  • Different ways to sequence Ruismaker Noir:

Use one of Brams other sequencers and pipe midi into Noir. Baseline, Collider, X0X - one or two voices are best.

Playbeat from audiomodern is also cool.

Running the Noir Sequencer through Scalar and into another instance of Noir is another way.

Yeah. It's the ruismaker sequencer basically. Just set it to the correct ruismaker preset.

Mmh you have Noir AU sequencer available in AUM too... :)

Edit: lol sorry that was RM not Noir :*

  • If you really like the built-in sequencer in Ruismaker, you can run it as an IAA, on an Audio channel, and send its Midi to AUM.
You have to go into the Midi settings in the IAA versions usually, and set them up manually.
Then just Route the Midi in AUM using the Matrix or Channel midi pop up, as usual.

I see most people saying use Rozeta, but it is not a 1 to 1 parity between Rozeta versions and the versions of the sequencers in the individual Brambos apps.

    Some tips:
Setup RM to receive Midi Start/Stop and Clock, but not Notes.
Setup RM to send just Notes.
In AUM, send Midi Clock to RM.
In AUM, mute the Audio channel containing RM if you just want to use the Midi.

Also, it is really tricky to control the Note assignments for the Midi output from RM.
One thing that is easy to try is using the GM Keymap button at the top of the RM drum synth section (the top part). This will make RM use General Midi drum-note mapping on the Midi output.

that's the one. It's the very same sequencer as far as I know.
