a new updated SP404 with live sampling and loop capture, 3 fx at once, velocity sensitive pads, better screen, up to 256gb sd card (current is just 32)

    This is Mc707.

    Which part of it?
Most of the best parts are in some way or another. Even the complex multichannel looping is being discussed at L7 post...
Looping and quantized launch is even better on GTL than Ableton itself...

Stagelight/Zenbeats has lots of similarities (and some improvements like cloud syncing and cross platform support)

Blocs/Launchpad are faster for sample/looping based music composition and replaying (with link you can also add midi with groovebox/modstep/AB3-AUM AUv3 hosting... midi fx, audio fx...)

Max? There are some modular environments for audio and midi scripting...

What else? Just curious since alternatives and new paradigms are finally arriving to our ecosystem.

I used to have an original SPL Vitalizer,
which was lovely on backing vocals but not much else.
Not really necessary with audio recording anymore.
It used to be when everything was analog
and the top end used to disappear.

    I'm on a different path.
I'm looking to design my own audio interface.

I'm using it for the valve-based change in sound (essentially what most people want valves for in the first place), not (or not only) for rebuilding lost trebles.
Seems like you haven't tried that specific model yet 😉

...from existing gear or completely new?

    That's why I mentioned the original 😉
not what we need it for now.
I definitely haven't tried that model.

    Yep, from new.

Behringer DS-80 (their proposed CS-80 clone) in fully working condition.

  • Superior drummer for ios. Fully functional not a cropped version. Or at least garageband drummer as an auv3. I would pay whatever the price apple would come out.

  • I hope we get the following:
. Circuit Pro with dedicated 8 Midi Out Channels
. DigiLogue from Elektron (small footprint of the Analog Four)
. Push3 stand alone that would basically be Ableton Lite in a controller and full Ableton when connected to Mac
. A grid based version of the Novation SL MKIII

I was really hoping for Push3 stand alone to be announce at Ableton event in November and it didn't happen which was surprising. Maybe November 2020?

    Exactly!
When I saw it first, it looked like a bulky, overly expensive hype machine but now that I got my hands on it, something like that on the iPad (controlled by an APC40) would be fantastic 😁

    Mmmm! Circuit Pro/2 with...

    -Multitrack usb audio out
-usb readable file system for backing up sessions populating samples etc ‘works with ‘Files’ app‘
-global (cross session) channel mutes (wonder if they could put this in the current one, love them updates)

Nope but I was lucky enough to play on one for a while, enough to get a good hands-on impression and compare it to the MC-707.

Push 2 is still getting updates. I wouldn't bet on Push 3 appearing until there's features inside Live that v2 can't deal with.

Would like to see hardware designed for arrange view stuff from Ableton.

i think many would like standalone as the main feature.

Like what? Like all the trillions of controllers out there for any single and boring DAW in the world???

    Just kidding...

What do you have in mind? I recently bought an old iControl for garageband desktop and it's amazing (yes it still works and has support for latest version of garageband).

What do you will love to see in such controller? Arrange views are very boring... or aren't them?

I only can imagine Ableton going vertical also for arrangement to keep things coherent from design... horizontal makes no sense just tradition!
I need refreshing ideas! Please share!

I’m use arrange view 95% of the time so jogwheel, automated faders, insert marker, split and tons of other stuff would be useful to have on buttons.

iOS is my session view, here plenty of options there!

  • Novation giving love to the iOS community and surprising us with launchpad (x) editors for our iOS devices

  • Components on iOS would be great. Especially since I just got a Summit yesterday!
