App for Octatrack like recording/manipulation?
Saw this video today as I GAS for an Octatrack (used to have one and sold it to fund the iPad rabbit hole). I love how this guy is resampling the same thing and triggering back pieces with different trigs, grains, and fx. I can't imagine there isn't a way in AUM or AB to do something like this, but I wouldn't know where to start with what apps. IDensity seems like it could work in some wars, or perhaps Enso, but they don't seem sequencable. I do plan on getting the OT again, hopefully soon, but for now I wanna rock it on the iPad. Any ideas?

Drambo
I’ve used all sorts of hard and software for years and years and consider myself pretty savvy about this kind of stuff. This sounds very cool, but for the life of me I can’t make any sense of it. Thank god I'm too dumb to understand the elektron paradigm and haven’t been able to try one out — I’d probably have incurable GAS otherwise.
Is it actually out yet?
I think he's live sampling from The recorder into the OT, and then he's resampling that input on different tracks with various time stretches, fx, and sample lengths.
"SOMEtime" in January. 80 different modules. Can sample/resamaple. Can timestretch. P(arameter)-locks. Of course FX.

half-way down the page is a video linked in @bcrichards post
Read somewhere that Drambo was supposed to be released since December 2018..
Looks nice..
Edit.. Jan 2020?
If you liked you Octatrack then better get one again.
If you really want to replicate that then I guess there's no way around miRack.
No other iOS app gives you so much freedom to build the weirdest combinations of sampling, processing and routing.

Apart from that, using AUv3 delays as samplers in AUM might be an easy first experiment.
I would recommend Virsyn Tap Delay for that.
It's a really un-musical delay that, in my cases, always failed to deliver musical results but it has one big advantage: You can enable and disable each delay tap via AUv3 automation (sequenced if you like) and simulate the sampling of snippets at different times.
Combine with Bram's random sequencers and a few physical modeling AUv3s and you have much of what's shown in the video.
Most will find this boring because it doesn't involve a new app but it will get you there.
Hi, i have an octatrack and i use it a lot paired with IPADs.
I found a good setup:
I use an iconnectivity audio4+, AUM encapsuled in AudioBus3 and use my launchpad X to trigger recording with LOOPY HD.
With Loopy HD you can choose on the fly the lenght of your records.
For me this is the closest way to approach the Octatrack recording style. Put some FX before recording and or After recording your loops and you have a fun looper sampler
Group the loop app look really good, havent test it yet.
Im waiting Drambo toooooooo
rs2000 mentions mirack. Check out the recently added simpliciter, and confusing simpler in mirack. These have some similarities to parts of the octatrack.
Drambo is definitely the one you want - it’s the only app I’ve seen that properly replicates Elektron’s parameter locks and scenes, with some further twists that take inspiration from the OP-Z’s step components. It’ll be out soon, hopefully. It’s brilliant.
I'd love to see how you manage to do with Drambo what the guy does in the video.
It's not about parameter locks or scenes.
so no control all on the octatrack right?
Thanks everyone for the advice. Seems like I may have to check out Drambo when it comes out, but I def. think I'll just have to save up for another OT. I can see me feeding the OT with material from the iPad and doing live looping, slicing, etc. that way.
Not unless you roll your own with scenes and the crossfader
and those are recordable into the sequencer?
I don't believe so.
There’s going to be a bundle with Loopy Masterpiece edition.
Again, not sequence-able but you could get similar sounding stuff from Möbius Lab if you want a single solution. That thing is a beast.
You can use the arranger to choose which scenes are set on the cross fader as each section plays so in a way yes, but if you don’t want to you can just jump between scenes whenever. For absolute easiness just resample the section while you do whatever with the scene fader and assign it. then you can just press play and let it do it’s thing
