any AUv3 MIDI fx capable to break chord to rhythmic patterns ?

edited January 2020 in General App Discussion

is there available something like midi slicer ? Something like brambos perforator, but working on incoming midi notes instead of audio ?

like i have chord progression like this:

and i want plugin to transform it in realtime to this :

ideally with enough settings to alter outgoing rhythm sequence, so i can experiment with various grooves build over chord progression

hint: i'm too lazy zo write it in mozaic :-))

    Steppolyarp has a chord mode,,

Edit.. seems only Cubasis does ‘real-time’ recording of Auv3 Midifx without some extra stuff..

StepPolyArp Unit will do that quite easily. Just bang in a pattern that only has +0 notes, then send your chords through it.

My Mozaic scripts, Rhythmic MIDI Echo and Velocity MIDI Echo might be useful as well, but SPA is the quick and easy answer.

  • It’s tough to get super detailed but the Arp in Chordion can kinda do this.

Also Rhythmbud, Mozaic scripts and StepPoly Arp/SPA Unit, mentioned above...

  • You can also reGroove midi through Photon. There’s a video where @midiSequencer Tony demos it.

Thanks guys, bingo, StepPolyArp is perfect ! It was sitting just before my eyes, i even tried it but didn't switched this magic button, so i thought it doesn't work that way:)))

edit: wow this is even better, it sends MIDI CC from it's automation lanes so i can control Obsidian macro knobs by rhytmic patterns from SPA ! Didn't expected that, great.

  • You can also store sequences into patterns and chain them, or trigger them via midi.

In my opinion, the best way to do this is to actually hold the notes, but automate volume (CC 7) or some filter cutoff. That way any longer variations of the sound (envelopes, LFOs etc.) are preserved as well.

    That’s a great tip!
