Turn AUM into LayR alternative

LayR seems quite impressive and will eventually be part of my arsenal of synths.
But until then, I'd like to know if someone know a way to get similar results using AUM.
AUM has already functionalities for limiting midi input range and transposing but no way (that I'm aware of) to smooth keyboard splits like LayR does.

Is there any such tool that can do it and would LayR be an overall better solution for multitimbral fans?

Thanks!

  • Midi Tools, by the same developer as Atom, has a key zones and instrument fades.

My best lower-cost alternative to LayR is Yonac KASPAR. In addition to 8 separate synth instances, it also offers key tracking and keyboard split plus a handy X/Y pad to morph between the layers, much like in KORG's Wavestation but for an "analog" synth.
I think I've paid $10 in one of their recent sales.

Trying to realize something like that in AUM with multiple synths can get bulky soon and I much prefer to have a one-stop app.

  • I've gotta say that LayR has many pieces that fit together uniquely in ways that is hard to emulate if one is taking advantage of them.

  • Water is an alternative to wine but it really doesn’t have the same taste
