Setup advice

Setup might include two ipads which includes Djplayerpro ( Dj Program )

As im about to buy a new xfader anyway for a Roland dj 99 in analogue mode but also potentially Djplayerpro so it has dvs. I can choose Innofader pro 2 or the new innofader pnp2. Pnp2 should be fine anyway but might of wished to buy Pro 2 should I not bother buying additional gear.

Additional gear would be a Numark Scratch and the Pnp2 fits where as the Pro 2 dosent.

This is why Im asking here. Can the soundcard of the Numark scratch be used as a normal soundcard for hosts like AUM/Audiobus etc.

If so. What are the losses/hassles overall in using two ipads without an iconnect 4.

Id have abelton link and airdrop and dropbox etc.

Where I use a korg volca drum, I think Id prefer a future IOS drum machine to have its own screen. Xequence 2 on another ipad with synths in the background and use korg nanokey studio and other bt controllers to control synths.

I think I can put any app bought on both ipads so I would maybe record drum machines in its own AUM and transfer to the ipad which will have Multitrack DAW.

Same with any recordings to transfer to DJplayer pro. Not sure if you can even access audio thats on your own ipad ( files system etc. It does seem to have access to external drives with ios 13 so it should do )

Hopefully output of zoom u44, of an ipad could go into the spare channel of Numark scratch and still be quality sound.

Ideally.

2 ipads will be useful and midi control and audio through of an iconnect audio 4 isnt so bad ut could be added if app setups require iconnect audio 4.

Djplayer and IOS host recognise Numark soundcard.

Bonus would be. A turntable and mixers soundcard provide timecode to one deck. Other decks recognise Korg Nanokontrol as a controller for 3 other decks.

May seem like hassle but an upgrade to an iconnect audio 4 ( even an additional zoom ) plus a possible Roland mixer sale sort of pays for a new mixer, that could also be an interface plus combine audio of both ipads.

What bs problems or opinions do you have?

Thank you.

  • Alternativley.

Can just upgrade the fader. Keep the mixer and use a Behringer 16 bit soundcard or find a 24 bit phono compatible alternative. Think it could be good to have any track made with IOS apps have an additionl hardware turntable control but I guess it would be best to be 24 bit. Unless djplayer via timecode somehow effects sound quality.

Dont buy another ipad and just layer production more as it will be that way anyway even with 2 ipads.

Or keep the mixer like I said and still buy another ipad and output an audio interface into the other interface.

Or the latter with an iconnect audio 4.

This decides the Pro 2 or the PNP2 but the PNP2 fits the Numark scratch.
