  • Agreed...that does remind me of Wakeman...even a bit of Strawbs, during the Wakeman era. Nice composition and sound @AlterEgo_UK.

  • Can't be a prog track, it's only three minutes! Just joking, great sound!

  • Thanks, people! ...and this is only 1 part so there may be more (though possibly not a triple LP!) :)

  • Very good!

  • Reminds me more of older Genesis - maybe around the Foxtrot timeframe. Very nice.

It kinda felt to me that it could stand to be a few BPM faster. Don't know why ... Still, hella better than anything I can do. :)

  • Another part of 'The Quest for the Holy Grail' - Parsifal battles the Red Knight. He wins and dons the red armour himself!

  • Great the way it builds up - I like the pause before the final chord too!

  • Both great tracks, reminded me of Wakeman, Yes and early Genesis. And in the first one a hint of early Marrilion, most excellent.

  • Thanks guys! :)

    Nice work!

Suggestion for a later installment: get some monks chanting. Could work as a "chanting riff" or as a bridge between segments.

Already thought about that for 'The Grail Procession' - coming soon! :)

  • The Quest for the Holy Grail continues - Parsifal stays with the Lady Blanchefleur and falls in love :)

More Bismark bs16 into Cubasis via Audiobus

  • Reminiscent of Camel or Strawbs to me. Great job @AlterEgo_UK.

  • Parsifal surveys the wasteland of the wounded Fisher King.

A pad from bismark bs16i, some sounds from Cubasis and my acoustic guitar combine to give a sense of the desolate kingdom of the Fisher King, who, after being wounded spends his time fishing while his kingdom becomes a wasteland

  • Whilst staying with the Fisher King, Parsifal witnesses a strange procession: First comes a young man carrying a bleeding lance, then two boys carrying candelabra. Finally, a beautiful young girl emerges bearing an elaborately decorated graal, or "grail".

Mainly Cubasis sounds for this and a first outing for the new Flying Haggis guitar amp app! The monks were sampled from a Gregorian Chant Youtube video and reversed in Cubasis to add a little more weirdness :)

  • Left you a couple of comments, I'm really liking this series!

  • Very visual. Great job on this. Flying Haggis seems to fit nicely.

  • Cheers, guys! I'm thinking about linking the tracks together with a brief narrative (just like the old Wakeman albums!). Just need a Richard Burton or Patrick Stewart sound-a-like! :)

  • Counts me out, but if you think a PeeWee Herman sound-alike voice would work, just let me know.

  • Delightful! All of the pieces are quite good..and I love the concept.

    Considering accepting voice-over auditions?

A new track to complete my 2014 mini album, The Quest for the Holy Grail. The Grail has been found and the weary knights can return home.

Guitars through Tonestack via Audiobus into Cubasis on iPad 2. Also featured: Slide Guitar and Mellotron (Thumbjam), Organ (Galileo), Drums and Bass (Cubasis).

  • Some heartfelt playing there, great piece!
