Alpha just keeps crashing really super often on me when guest inside of Cubasis3, making it practically impossible to use. Don't know who is the culprit here.. Alpha, Cubasis 3 or maybe even myself. I've sent a few crash reports to the devs a few weeks ago, Vianney from Bleass has told me they have had issues with Cubasis3 and that they are looking into it. Hopefully that'll get fixed, it's a shame to have such an awesome AUv3 synth just laying there unusable.
@bleassapp any chances of us getting a more in-depth arp editor? It would be nice to have something like Lagrange’s arpeggiator that gives a bit more control.
At the very least, it would be nice to see the arp settings available as MIDI parameters and in the Motion section. It would be nice to be able to automate changing the speed, number of octaves, and pattern.
Hey!
I'm still getting state reset /not-saved inside Cubasis3.
Meaning, when I close C3 and then reopen it, the Alpha instance sounds completely different than it did when I closed the project. The instance UI still says it's the same preset, but the sound is different, like an initialized plugin instance. Doesn't happen always but often enough that it makes me avoid the synth altogether. Anybody else getting this?
iOS 15, C3 3.3, Alpha 1.11.
I love and use BLEASS Alpha and Omega synths in just about all of my compositions. Designing my own sounds is such fun and so easy with their approach to UI. The one thing that bugs me is that the MacOS (more expensive) versions lag behind the (cheaper) iOS versions. I do the majority of my work on my Mac and its frustrating that MPE functionality is so lacking compared to the iOS versions of the same plugins. That being said, BLEASS synths are still my go-to for sound design. The UI in my opinion is so well thought out and easily usable it makes it a truly enjoyable experience.
I haven’t used Alpha in a while and just noticed that the preset menu no longer has the “type” filters for pluck, arp, pad, etc.. @bleassapp was that on purpose? I see Monolith had it, and I really super appreciate that functionality.
Same with Omega… EDIT: a reinstall fixed the issue.

Thanks for mentioning this, Monolith convinced me to buy alpha and I was a little disappointed that it didn't had filtering tags. I was wondering if this feature was simply missing
Really like the Bleass stuff, I am sure this will be fixed in an update. I am a preset user mostly due to lack of time and it helps a lot categorizing presets by type.

If you haven't, you might want to contact them directly. They may not closely follow the discussions here.
Done, sent them an email regarding the issue👍.

Thanks a lot for letting us know about the Categories missing in BLEASS Alpha! An update fixing this should be available this summer.
in the meantime BLEASS Omega has just been updated with modulation visualisation!
Loving your free synth, and hope to buy the rest of your apps when you have your next sale ;-)
By the way, @bleassapp I just checked and "The Sound Test Room" extra presets are no longer available to buy? They don't show up in the in-app purchase store in the Omega app (iOS version).
@bleassapp Thank you for fast response!

Hi All,
Longtime lurker, first time poster.
I just got Bleass Alpha & am REALLY getting along with it. I've searched this forum extensively but, I'm tearing my hair out a little trying to
A) Use the excellent in-app keyboards (with or without mpe enabled)
&
B ) recording Bleass Alpha output to Cubasis3.5 at the same time.
I know I have the track armed to record, and even hit the "midi thru" button in the routing settings - but when I record, Cubasis records no midi or audio data to the track.
I can record midi data to the track using the Cubasis keyboard (which doesn't have the excellent scale function or mpe glide&slide that the in-app keyboard has)
and
I can record midi data using KB-1 as a midi effect, but the ease of having it all-in-one proper screen for Alpha is so appealing.
I know one can record from on screen keyboard in other apps like Synthmaster 1 & synthmaster 2. But I'm stumped with Bleass Alpha. Is there a setting to adjust to allow "midi out" or something that I'm missing? Do other bleass instruments allow recording of in-app keyboards to the cubasis timeline?
Any help is appreciated in advance!
Unfortunately none of the BLEASS Synth apps transmit any Midi...
...the keyboards also lack Y-Axis velocity which is a bummer for on-screen playing and makes it hard to design velocity sensitive patches without an attached keyboard.
Unless you use the 'scales' and 'tap'n'swipe' to glide between notes there's really nothing special about the BLEASS Keyboards compared to Cubasis keyboard.
I don't have a clue if @bleassapp will ever add midi-transmit to their apps...
...we can always hope.
Cheers!
Thank you for the quick response & disappointing but clear info @Samu . I do love a "scales" & "tap & swipe" glide moment, so...dang!
This seems like a missed opportunity what with the emphasis on their "synth & keys", "Just keys", & "two layers of keys" buttons at the top of the Alpha interface.
I do hope they would add midi-out to their feature-set. If you're listening @bleassapp , please do consider adding midi out & y-axis velocity option to alpha or all your in-app keyboards, it really does remove some hoops we have to jump through to use your synths to their fullest!
And put the filter routing options from Megalit inside of Omega. IMHO that should have been introduced earlier. I didn’t grab Megalit because of the lack of importing WTs. Feels like they fumbled on that one. I still love Alpha, Omega, and Monolit though. @bleassapp Would just love some updates! I messaged you guys on Twitter about a Monolit preset pack I made with 128 presets. It seems that the only way to import presets is one by one and the users I’ve given the pack to, are turned off by having to import this way. Please update this for batch import or consider including the preset bank in future updates!
Yep.... I'm very tired of synths not having batch import / export... I mean it's just so clearly a necessary feature.
I will say, sound wise it’s one of the best VAs on iOS. And I personally don’t have any issues with it. Maybe I’m biased bc Bleass is one of my favorite devs but Alpha is one I reach for a lot.
Haha I get that. It’s much easier to talk yourself into it that out of it, so good job there. I suck at that 😂
Bleass have never been active here. Maybe sending them an email and seeing if you get a response would be a better metric!
I’ve had trouble with Alpha a long time ago and when I reached out via email they’ve been responsive. In my experience Bleass are very good with helping users, but you should reach out via the dedicated support channels.
I dont like the sounds texture of the osc it my main reason but all a personal matter of taste I need to fall in love with sounds and a great osc
Did anyone figure out how to batch import presets?
I wonder if that’s the reason why they work perfectly in GarageBand? 😁 Not sure about Megalit though as I don’t own it
