Hardware Midi Sync: LINK/Latest Mac OS upgrade/Ableton
I am having some odd behavior where some devices seem like they have a sway on the BPM, not swing but this warped sort of movement.
I can't tell if it is the Digitakt or Circuit or what have you.
Gonna do some tests and see.
Wondering if any of you have all of sudden recently ran into this.
I feel like the Circuit is involved. Because that is doing some odd stop thing in the beginning.
Probably gonna try it off the iPads and see how sync accuracy is.
WHAT MEANS METHODS SET UP DO YOU USE TO SYNC HARDWARE IOS ETC?
Comments
Out of the many possible combinations, what I'm using is this (a few examples of what's working well enough to use live):
Digitakt as MIDI clock master to iPad over either USB or BlueTooth MIDI and the following apps:
iPad as a clock master and Digitakt as a clock slave connected over BT or USB MIDI:
Haven't tried BM3 as a clock master yet but I guess it'll work too.
To get perfect timing, I'm using a cheap true stereo digital delay from Behringer in the faster audio path, it's the easiest way to achieve perfect sync with apps that don't support audio latency correction.
Edit: When syncing hardware to hardware, I never had any issues except some pattern-based boxes ignoring song position pointers 😋
Cool!
Thanks
I think I figured it out but need to verify
Good luck!
I am now trying to see if it is Ableton or just the Circuit firmware with the new OS upgrade.
I am now going to check all other boxes and synths to see where they are at.
The circuit synced nice using the iPad / AUM.

It's best to start with only two devices and make sure that only one device is the clock master and all others are clock slaves.

Easily a contender for Tip of the Year ! Thx
Thanks!👍🏼
$20 well invested.
