Audiobus and Alesis Photon X25 USB Keyb and Audio interface
Audiobus works fine with the quite old Alesis PhotonX25, MIDI USB Keyboard/Controller AND Audio interface. The sound goes thru the Photon, as this machine does not need any driver to run. All the connected apps perfectly sound.

Yay! Thanks for posting this. Being sure that certain hardware works flawlessly is helpful for us when answering other users's questions.
Hi Techno.. can you clarify that you are using two different usb devices into the ipad? I have an art 2 channel mic pre and was wondering how to include my midi controller into the chain. Thx.
Wow I didn't even know this existed, but is almost exactly what I have been looking for. Does it require a powered USB hub?
Jfu222 his midi controller is also the audio interface.
I can confirm that I've successfully used up to three USB devices via a powered hub into an iPad 2 iOS 5.0.1 (an M-Audio Axiom 49, a generic MIDI interface and a generic audio interface).
The Photonx25 is great because it can be powered with 4x1,5v standart batteries (#8h)

@jfu222 I plug the Photonx25 using the camera/USB Apple plug. In the Photon i can plug 2devices in (2xmono) line level only (but i use an KorgAX to plug my guit/mic). The iPad sounds via the 2audio outputs of the Photon. I may even synchronize using the MIDI in/out of this nice keyboard...
I picked one of these up years ago when I first dabbled in laptop DAWs but never really used it until I got my iPad.
The Photon can be powered over the USB, by battery or by a separate psu into the plug in the back. When using an iPad you need to use a powered hub or psu / battery's
It also has a separate on off switch. I have had no problems using this controller with my iPad and any of the apps that use midi or accept digital audio through the apple cck
