How do you output the individual drums via MIDI on different notes like in Digistix ?

You don't have to do anything special. Above the sequence or the mixer, hit the fx/out icon and turn on midi out.

Thx! That’s so weird, it’s working now. It was outputting all of the drums on one note before.

    Lol.

So is there any way change the designated notes other than using a 3rd party tool?

  • I don't think so.

    Cheers @wim !

  • In song mode you can transpose the key of a pattern up, but you can’t transpose down. REALLY needs to be able to do this imo.

  • The main problem I have with DigiKeys is that it forgets my sequences if I have been away from the iPad for a bit. Don't know whether it is a DigiKeys or AUM issue as I have noticed a few 4Pockets apps have problems in AUM when left alone for a while.

I haven’t noticed this. Are you saving your DigiKeys project or relying on state saving? I save often. My only issue with saving in DigiKeys is you have to re-enter the name each time you quit AUM and re-open the session. The DigiKeys save field is blank and you have to remember what it was called.

State saving. That's the main draw for AUM for me, that everything gets saved with the AUM project.

Multitrack does this sometimes as well. Not very often, but I have to remember to save before closing just in case.

DigiKeys has done it to me enough times that I'm wary of approaching it now. Which is a real shame as it's nearly there in terms of a MIDI sequencer that can run inside AUM and do song mode when I want it to.

The new FX one, NuRack? also has problems with sitting there idle and I have come back to find it with red stripes on the icon after a little time away. Also annoying as the newly added distortion module is pretty nice.

I don’t put much confidence in state saving. So many app’s settings revert after quitting and reopening my AUM sessions (Riffer & Mozaic are a couple off the top of my head that are frustrating like that).

i just realized something that i’m not really digging about this sequncer...

so i have pattern 1 going... with 3 tracks , each going to a different instance of mela synth... all good here,

    the problem

i want track one to be 16 steps and track 3 to be 32 , unfortunately when i change track 3 to 32 it also changes track one to 32 steps, leaving track one way to long and creating lots of empty space, sigh...
so within the same pattern all tracks have to be length? you can’t have different length tracks? i feel like i’ve been able to have different length tracks before within the same pattern so maybe i am just over looking something?

@anickt mentioned this earlier in the thread..
From the help section within the app..

    Experimental Track Length Feature.
DigiKeys has a hidden feature that allows you to have tracks cycle at a different loop length than the pattern they belong. To change the track length TAP and HOLD in the contstrution grid header on the beat number of choice. A '^' symbol will appear below this beat number showing where the track will cycle. When a pattern is playing it will continue to freely loop, however when the pattern is added to the Song Chain it will always reset to the beginning of the loop when a song position changes. To remove the loop point TAP and HOLD again on the loop marker.

well look at that! thanks for the info!!
    i’ll be using that.

i’m trying to to get the dev to let us make a single not cross from one section of 16 steps into the next section so we can have a 32 step drone for example, or even start it on the 5th step and end it on the 24th, right now it is not possible and quite an upset i didn’t anticipate

  • @reasOne You’re welcome.. I haven’t seen any videos that highlighted that loop point feature.. Important? Hell ya.. Somewhat hidden? You betcha!
Here’s another feature I just discovered purely by accident.. trying to reset the tempo to 120 bpm by double tapping the tempo knob.. Global Swing Options?
It’s not even in the help documentation..
Would also love to see that note extension between two 16 step sections..

+1 this is one of two reasons I hardly ever use this otherwise pretty darn good app. The other was not being able to change the length of individual tracks. It looks like maybe that one has been taken care of with the “experimental” loop point feature.

Still ... not being able to extend notes through sections. That’s a deal breaker for me, sadly.

For slower toons, the Track Speed option helps with this to a certain extent.

he replied to some comments about it i made on youtube but then i think that was the end. he started working on that effects rack thing and it seems that digikeys isn’t priority. kinda a bummer cuz it is so convenient to use and very light

  • Somehow missed this one when it came out. If I have MIDI Strummer already, what new utility would I find out of this?

  • How do I map Digikeys to Ruismaker or Ruismaker fm?

If it is to trigger notes:

    Ruismaker

    Ruismaker FM

You can use Nurack Midi Remap to remap the notes, that's what I'm using:
