Just use whatever amp sim and dump FAC Chorus on top, secret bass sauce.

  • I happen to love Black Ice.

  • I like Black Ice.

Re pitching a guitar down…it can work in some contexts but doesn’t sound like a bass in most cases.

Nobody as mentioned Mammoth. It is very versatile and sounds good.

I like this one too. Can be aggressive if that’s what you’re looking for.

  • Mammoth is great. ToneX too. BYOD and Saturn2 also work well for this.

If you’re on a budget, the Lost in the 70s Bass/Guitar deluxe apps are really good too.

  • Tonex Acoustic 360

    Very accurate. 🙂

What’s that on top of the space echo?

  • A Klemt Echolette. So… echo into echo? Doubling into echo, I would imagine.

    Klemt Echolette multi-head tape echo.

    I don’t think I’ve ever done that 😲

I just stack em there for easy access.

It’s gorgeous 🤩 that’s a nice stack in general. Bet it sounds amazing.

I did hear someone saying that they’d used the sampletank basses and they were really good. I used to have sampletank but I thought it was dreadful. I don’t know if I tried the basses. If they are actually good I could use that app that creates a sample instrument on iPad to make them (AU through audio layer. But.. I’m skeptical. The beathawk ones are pretty thin

By far, the best iOS synth to create realistic and expressive bass sounds is Nambu.
    No need to go samples.
Here a short demo of 2 Nambu bass presets with a ToneStack bass amp and slides done on the great Velocity Keyboard. Note that I. set up the « mono legato without retrigger » mode to play natural trills on the (virtual) fretboard :

  • Nembrini BlackIce covers all my needs

I used to run ToneStack through inter app audio (lol) way before they ever came out with 2.0 but I tried it again and it doesn’t seem to come close to the nembrini stuff. Their guitar amps and effects are all dialed in nicely too.
