lol i do turn off most the presets effects prior to jamming
These for some reason sound sooo good soaked in Alteza.❤️❤️❤️❤️
Ok you guys I’m trying to decide if I want to pull the plug on this bad boy while it’s still on sale.
What about that MPE IAP?
I got it last night, as I really like the og. Sequencer is awesome. Didn't spring for any IAP yet.
Turned off fx, turned down in some cases - synth sounds good to my ears.
I’m really enjoying this synth! Got an awesome pad going all drowned in tasty Alteza sauce.😍😂🤪
My thoughts exactly word for word. You gotta go with what you like.
All three of the IAPs are pretty good. I just tried the MPE IAP with KB-1, and it does work, and it does respond to aftertouch messages in regular MIDI mode also. The 70s patches are interesting, because Magellan 2 has that analog grit combined with that digital coldness. So they sound vintage-inspired, without sounding vintage.
Thanks everybody. I’m in! Hope it’s still on sale when I get home.
I’m confused. This sounds like you need to purchase the MPE IAP to use MPE, but that isn’t the case is it? The IAP is just presets, correct?
Yeah, MPE is built in. Sounds really awesome. Got after i read Samu’s recommendation.
Thanks. Yeh, I’ve since confirmed that MPE works without IAP. The IAP is just presets. The way it was mentioned made me suspect otherwise, so I wanted to clarify to anyone who hasn’t bought the app yet.
that was what i originally thought when i read it, dev worded in a way to make it seem the case, ...
i still wish there was a way to sequence mpe midi in these midi aufx apps...i feel like capturing audio or going in to edit it after is the only option
I always liked even the v1.
Really expressive, versatile and good sounding synth.
It does not sound really „pro analog modeled“ but it got a bit analog flavor at times.
I think it is a really good iOS synth but most of the presets are indeed drenched way too much in the not great sounding reverb.
(I mean mainly no iOS synth beside TF8 comes with a great sounding reverb algorithm. Maybe Shockwave but i still like TF8 reverb much more).
Just confirming what you guys seem to already know.
Not necessary to get the IAP to have MPE function but all of the presets in that purchase respond to after touch on your midi controller.
Which is just what I was hoping for so I’m happy about that.
Agreed that the presets are effects heavy but you can go in and dry them up and tweak some and get a lot closer to that true analog sound you’re looking for.
It’s no Model 15 but we already have one of those.
Spent a few hours fiddling and the deeper I got the better it sounded.
Haven’t bought a synth app in a long time because I have more than I use but no regrets here at all.
Thanks for all the input.
So Magellan 2 is AU only (or standalone — but who uses standalone?) so it doesn’t display its own MIDI ports to macOS when using it via Studiomux. If this is the result of the deprication of IAA...I’m not down for any further iOS updates. I bought it thinking it as an upgrade and it’s cool in its own way but realise it’s probably less useful to me than the original. Am I missing something?
.
I’m happy with Magellan v1 and don’t have money to burn, so I haven’t bought v2. Consequently, I don’t know how different these v1 patches will sound, (they already changed after release with v1 updates), but here are some of my old patches for anyone who doesn’t already have them.

Thanks, they seem compatible and sound great.
Yes, @TheOriginalPaulB had a go before, they all seem to work,a few don't sound quite the same, some better in v1 I thought...
Yeah. It’s a bit like remodelling a house, but leaving all the furniture where it was. Something isn’t going to be quite right...
Mainly thanks to you though 🙏
Magellan 2 sounds incredible, but there is a strange bug/feature with the arpeggiator.
When randomizing patches and arpeggios, it sounds like C5 is also selected in the arpeggiator, but unlike Kauldron, there is no C5 on the menu.
Is anyone else having issues with this app cutting out? I boot it up, it works for a while, then stops making any sound. I can’t figure out what’s going on, and all my other apps are fine, so I’m about to “return” it for a refund.
Ok it’s only doing this in standalone mode. In AU mode it’s fine.
AU Now has host transport control on the sequencer.
Great...I have Magellan 1..
Love the spawn...
Can say the arpeggiator function is much fun and easy to use...
Very old school...turning switches on off
IOSSOS
Sorry CANNOT say arpeggio tor’s is much fun
i was happy to get this update! and better spawning!
Bought this for 99p recently and fired it up last night. Wow, love the sound every bit as much as original Magellan - takes me back! Just need to get my old M1 patches into M2 and time will surely melt away
