Can I get audio into werkbench via AUM? I think not...

I think maybe I need Audiobus to do that. I’m think of triggering with guitar noises via interface, or audio from other apps. I just bought it, and think it’s gonna be amazing for setting up rhythm tracks live, the first 10 minutes has been a lot of fun.

I can get audio from my interface by itself in there, but I want it to go via AmpliTube etc first, plus the option to use audio from other AU or IAA apps.

So I’m pretty sure I need audiobus, AUM alone won’t do it, unless I’m doing something wrong... thanks for any info :)

    What I've done

Make sure your sampling threshold is low enough because some sounds won’t trigger.
The A bus is for monitoring without feedback in WerkBench

  • Ok so that looks doable, thanks.

If I want Amplitube to listen to my hardware input, can I send the Amplitube output into Werkbench within Audiobus?

  • As a rule I think Werkbench is made for sampling live audio through the iPads microphone.

Sampling exterior gear be it iPad apps or live instruments depends on routing sounds to it via a similar layout to the example above.

You can route your guitar signal from your interface into AUM with Amplitude in the effects slot and receive the audio output from that into Werkbench in a set up similar to the one above.

Yeh, I see all the demo videos show that. The sound test room has some videos using Audiobus and drum synth inputs.

The reason I really like this app is its ease of building a rhythm live, from scratch. Pretty sure it's workflow in this regard is unique. And I've made some cool percussion sounds in the past with guitar/distortion/reverb.

So having bought the app, I think I'm going to have to buy Audiobus to make to make it work. Thanks for your input

Audiobus is worth it, being the original iOS mixer it’s unique and useful and it supports this forum ;)
