Forum doesn't work on older iOS
RANT MODE ON
So, can't browse forum on iOS10 Safari anymore. Just a blank page.
Well... why the hell "modern neo forum solutions" like Vanilla and Discourse are such INCOMPETENT that they break on 4 years old browser? It's not like i'm on Opera @ Windows XP
Considering it's already subpar in functions in comparison to classic forums because 1) you dont have advanced search engine, or search engine at all, using google as escape which won't let you search within category, within thread, by user name etc. 2) Don't have actual subforums and instead it's more like tags in blog, those categoties. 3) something more i forget. (bonus: also bad UI/UX for PC desktop users, but i can understand that as you aim at iOS mobile/tablet audience in first place, and modern web in general is goes to shit with that focus).
So it has less functional yet it only works on the most-most recent browsers... like, it uses some ultra new html5/css3 solutions that only appeared this year?
Geez.
This is why hell yeah to good old phpbb or IPB. Or follow-ups like XenForo.

I'm on IOS-9 and get along with a tap-hold on Safari's refresh icon in the title line.
When hold down, a button 'Request Desktop Site' pops up and tapping this will refresh the page.
But most of the time not immediately, you have to give Safari something else to do 'screen action' before, like open any other site on a new tab or display the history.
After that go back to AB forum and do the long press - annoying, but better than nothing...
(maybe specific to the Air-2, it doesn't work with my iPad-2)
Try Chrome
Something must be wrong with the html/javascript I guess.
On my iPhone on iOS 9.3, with Javascript enabled, nothing works except I try going pages back and forth several times, then sometimes it works perfectly but most of the times I can only see fragments of the pages.
With Javascript turned off, pages are viewable (minus youtube and soundcloud) but posts can't be edited, profile menu and notifications are unavailable.
Try usenet
😂
Some more annoyances:
Sometimes dark mode gets disabled for no reason and it’s always late at night. Melts my eyeballs.
Text gets much larger in landscape mode and takes you to a different place in the thread. So annoying.
No problems using Firefox .... iOS 10.3
I am writing this in Safari on an ancient phone running iOS 10.3.3. I haven't had any forum problems.
Interesting. I use it on an iPad with ios12.3.1. I wonder if some Safari setting has become corrupted on your install.
Or cookies, JavaScript, or other ad-blocking going on. Knowing Mr. Tja’s preference for privacy, I wouldn’t be too surprised. But, maybe not. That’s just a guess.
Clearing Cache might help, though I assume that’s already been tried.
I've just downloaded the free Ecosia browser, which does the page refresh better than Safari.
Usually fixes the page on tapping the refresh icon and then keeps the site going more consistently.
