mr Woodmans gate
hello people, and particularly @_ki
was about to post asking if, with the new sidechaining in aum and apematrix there was any au Gate fx coming up that offered that... then in the course of checking the wiki and my au stash I discovered that Mr Woodmans woodNgate already has it!!
of course, if i remember correctly, he was pretty much the first to offer up a sidechain (instance to instance) workaround in this plug in ,that would even work in Cubasis. which is why i bought it in the first place. any road.. it seems all the new multi route functionality was already in there AND i’ve just had it gating the iVSC3 noise and osc from a drum sample in apematrix .. very nice.
@_ki .. i am not so familiar with the wiki, i wonder if you would add it in to the multibus list with the other two woodman plug ins.. the only other one i don’t have thats not on the list is woodstepper.. so i am not sure if that has a side chain in there.
anyway, really happy i got this woodNgate all that time ago, it now has a whole new life.

No problem ,
i just looked up all releases of Woodman‘s and added WoodnGate to the AU Multi-Bus Audio Units & Hosts wiki page.
Woodpressor and Woodulator had already been on that list. WoodStepper or WooLofier didn‘t list that feature in their release notes, so i don‘t think they support it.
interestingly Woodlofier DOES list ‘side send’ and ‘side receive’ as modulation sources for various parameters like noise amp , tape rotation, saturation etc... but it doesn’t have a multibus input in ape so i don’t know what thats all about... maybe time to have a word with mr woody?
can anyone else wade in on woodstepper.. i know its a complex beast, i’ve ummed and ahhed about it for ages but not bit the bullet yet.
sent mr immaculate a mail .. so we’ll see if he has any plans..
well it seems Wim updated the other plugs for au bussing last week.. and completely forgot there was any in his woodlofier plug... but now he is on the case.. looking forward to that... i should probably get woodstepper as well to grease his palms..
I thought this thread was commentary on how he walks...
Just following up. I had one instance of Funk Drummer with WoodnGate in AUM and then added one multiout instance in another lane. The multiout instance makes no sound. I believe I’m doing something wrong - any ideas?
mr woodmans gait made him late to a date with his mate, t’was fate.
its only an input for a sidechain signal... you have to route some other sound/audio INTO it.
super useful though.
