Kdevices shaper...sumtin’ broke...
It’s my main distortion/ wave shaper but something seems to have broken... in AUM, even though I have it properly midi/AU mapped, it’s not responding. Nothing happens in the AU when midi is sent to AUM... can anyone else test this and confirm? All the rest of my mappings are working fine...

@MonkeyDrummer
Just tested routing midi in AUM from StepBud and midiLFOs to various Shaper parameters and no problems. iOS 12.4 iPad mini 5th gen.
All good here. IPad Air 2 iOS 13.3.1.
Very weird...
Have you tried re-learning the controls? If AUM can't re-learn them then the problem has to be between the controller and AUM. If it can, the the problem has to be with Shaper.
Yup.. I've tried unlearning and relearning. And the relearn works, so obviously midi is getting into AUM OK, plus all the other mappings work fine... For some reason Shaper seems to just be ignoring the messages.
Would you mind trying with more than one instance of Shaper? I've got like 4 running so I wonder if there's some conflict there?
@j_liljedahl Have you reveived any reports of this issue in AUM with Shaper or other AU's that just stop responding to AU/midi mapping?
I think the mar 3 shaper update broke something... I’m positive (based on recordings I did before that) that this worked...
Okay, this is weird... since the update seems to have caused it, and I have not restarted iPad since then... I did a reboot and now it works! Some library or process must have been locked or unloaded on the update...
Soooo... stand down, crisis averted.🤪
I reproduced it once, on my first try, but then couldn’t reproduce it again.
First I added Shaper on four channels, then mapped two controls on each. After mapping the fourth, I did lose control on the first.
Then I removed the first, added it back in, and remapped. All channels then worked. I tried adding a fifth, and that one worked too. I then cleared the session and started over. This time I couldn’t reproduce the problem. All channels responded. A second attempt worked fine too.
My first tests were with each shaper on a different AUM channel. I realized you might be using more than one shaper on a channel, so I stacked four of them on a single channel and repeated the test. I couldn’t get it to fail.
So yes, I did reproduce it, but only once. If you haven’t already tried it, I would suggest removing and re-adding the one that isn’t working. If that doesn’t work, then maybe try saving the AUM session to a new one and trying on that session. Maybe something is corrupted in that one session, and maybe a save will clean things up. Oh, and as always, reboot the device if you haven’t already tried that (gotta say it even though I know you probably already did.)
@MonkeyDrummer @wim Its annoying still can not save user presets in AU Version. That was meant to be the new big update to the version prior to the most recent. Still not able Are you?
Also I can save presets in standalone but they dont show in AU
Its also weird the Au version - when for example I set Bits & Samps when i reload a project the numbers become percentages...
Never noticed. I never save presets in anything I do. I’ll load one as a starting point, but my music is like dust in the wind... An ephemeral shimmer of an unbridled inspirational kiss from my muse, never to land the same way twice.
Same.
@MonkeyDrummer @wim cheers for reply.
