Is there a way to change scale on 2 or more riffer at the same time
Hi everyone ! I have 3 instances of riffer in midi aum which are playing randomly 2 instruments each. All 3 riffer are in C . Is there a way to change the scale on the 3 riffer at the same time ? In that case, i would like the 3 riffers to go from C to G ... thanks for reading, wish you all a great day

How are you able to run 3 instances of Riffer at the same time? It is IAA.
Because Riffer doesn’t open its parameters to midi CCs in AUM, I don’t believe there is any way to alter them at the same time. Maybe we should write to the dev and ask if he can open the parameters up, as it would be very handy to what you ask.
I left a four star review explaining the lack of CC access is holding the app back
or forget everything you know about ccs 🤣🤣
That’s easy!
thanks @Fruitbat1919 would be a game changer !
Would make a big difference for an app like this. A nice dude made a Mozaic script for me so that I could change the root note of Cality - that would probably do the job with little or no alteration, if only Riffer was open to modulation. Let’s keep our fingers crossed, because I agree with you that it’s a much needed feature.
If you used Mozaic you could change the scale of any incoming midi notes on a midi channel. There are premade scripts that will do this.
Just tried with Midifire and Riffer copies the scale to all open versions, did think that was pos an easy work round. ram has obviously done this on purpose to avoid clashes with scales.
Yeah that’s a good idea. I’m not sure it’s the best solution for complex setups. I think open midi is a much better long term solution. I’m sure that people who are actually doing these sort of setups are unlikely to forget the different scales, if that is how they have set it up. Blocking off parameters is just limiting in my opinion.
Your solution is a workaround though, but just a tad more complex in setups where I am using multiple midi sources feeding multiple midi randomisers feeding multiple sound sources via route randomisers- this kind of setup would need a few more instances of Mozaic and a more complex setup than just using one Mozaic to change the root of multiple midi sources.
If you hook up a controller to Riffer and set it to CC#36, you can control Key change. It will work with each instance you connect to.
In your case, to go from C to G, try setting your values to 0 for C and around 80 for G. If you want to use Notes to change Key, you would have to convert notes to the specific values in the 0-127 range for CC#36.
If you look at the settings in Riffer, you can see all the controllable parameters. They respond to Midi CC messages, but not AU control messages, so use the old school way.
@JeffChasteen Riffer is a Midi AU also. It was setup wrong before as a regular AU, but got an update to make it an AU Midi processor.
will try that @CracklePot thanks !
? It's been AUv3 since launch?
@JeffChasteen riffer is auv3. @lukesleepwalker since launch i do not know —-
D’oh!
