  • Unattributed code use not good, will hold off on the IAP until this is clarified.

  • I tried it, but although its good for analysing the song construction, its less good for sample use. Too much artefacts in the separated track.

Have you tried it on normal pop/rock songs? This kind of tech (deep learning) is best on data similar to that used for training the models, and not so good if you try it on more obscure kind of music. I'm guessing they didn't use much EDM, either.

  • @Identor its all about those Artifacts. There is truth to what you say . I noise gated some stuff processed with the app and some eq / compression tweaks . Sounds good

  • Yeah, great for song analysis, definitely not ideal for samples at all, the tech clearly isn't quite there yet

  • Had a quick play, I really like it. The broken warbly underwater stuff has its own vibe. Quick play of extracting the drums from a track and throwing it into gadget:

It sounds distorted. Too much gain or too much artifacts. But like you said, broken warmly underwater stuff. i sometimes use Warp (Audiodamage) to get that stuff.

    Absolutely love it.

  • answer to some questions asked here

    1) Can’t find the attribution of third party libraries or softwares which the app uses.
You can see it if you have downloaded the app by the following steps
    1. stop the app
    2. open Settings
    3. find and choose Let’s Unmix
    4. choose Acknowledgement
All s/w and their license terms are located here

    2) Does it use Spleeter?
Yes it does use Spleeter as stated above.

    3) Can’t find songs downloaded from Apple Music in media library
The app only supports non-DRM protected files. As Apple Music files are DRM protected, it doesn’t show them.

  • i think you have to have purchased the songs.

  • Version 2.6 is out:
The new features of this version (2.6)

    • Transcribes vocal and base tracks and export as MIDI format
    • MIDI playback is not supported on 2.6
    • Supports FLAC format for input file
    • bug fix

I haven't tried it yet, but being able to transcribe and export tracks as midi seems like a really usefull feature 😊
