I love AudioLayer for what it does, but I detest manually building instruments in it. The gestures for managing zones are infuriating, and it simply doesn't zoom in far enough IMO.
That said, thankfully, I never build up instruments using the interface any more. It has an auto-sampler that works great, and it imports ESX24 and SFZ files. Making stuff with the auto-sampler is fun.
It's more powerful by miles than Chameleon (disclaimer - I don't own that one), and now that I only have to deal with the zones interface rarely, I'm super glad to have it, and yes, would pay $20 for it in its current state.
Anyone got AU parameters working in AudioLayer? How do you assign for example the filter cutoff?
For me it does not show the 33% in the AppStore - so the stuff that you posted here is identical with what i see in the AppStore description. (I already own AudioLayer, maybe that has to do with it? I don’t think so but could be possible.)
@tja Right from this very moment:

@tja Maybe its not yet propagated to the local AppStore yet as i see you have an english AppStore and i use the german one
I own AudioLayer, but had yet to look into the parameters. I HAVE dug into the same developers AddStation and they used the same “placeholders” before specifying the sections (below, Block 1), but still not providing any parameters that are automatable (also below). Reslice does expose the parameters and they can be automated. What to make of this? We need automation in AddStation—and AddLayer. What’s the plan, @VirSyn?
Looking for simple and free but configurable MIDI controller apps (wheels, faders and more)?
Make sure you get the Yamaha "Sound Controller" and "Faders" apps before November 2020.
Jack Edmonds' midiBox is another interesting pad/keyboard controller with a pitch to MIDI function.
Midi Designer Pro 2 is on sale.

Free apps, but for the die hard musique concrete/radiophonic workshop experimentalists out there only:
A set of Polish sound creation apps from the Stockhausen end of the spectrum, absolutely zero connectivity so ‘screen record n wav grab’ only, but certainly makes some different noises. Top tip: double clicking on the shapes in ‘Sonoforms’ lets you resize and tweak them. Try overlapping stuff too:
The most ‘grown up’ and musically interesting as sample fodder imo are the first three, ‘sonoforms’, ‘etudes’ and ‘dissonance’, but all of them are worth checking out, sampling, speeding up, slowing down etc...

The apps are aimed at teaching kids elements of musical sound theory but a) you don’t really need to read anything, just get hands on, and b) if this is what they give kids in Poland to create music with, the school concerts must be something else.
Thanks for this @Svetlovska. I dig running these kind of apps to my hardware samplers and recorders before sending back to ipad for arrangement
Thank you! These look very interesting! 😎👍🏼

Thanks a lot for these. The Poles did some innovative stuff back in the day that got a bit overshadowed by the western studios.
Nu Rack on sale for $9.99 usually $12.99 I know the four pockets apps go on sale a lot but nu rack has had a lot of great midi updates, and hasn’t been on sale recently.

Okay, @Poppadocrock, you got me!
Bought it and shall spend the weekend exploring new song idea Possibilities!
Well, so far in only have Auria Pro, CB2, CB3, BM3(was free), Audiobus, Caustic and Garage band.
Absolutely! Even the fx section alone is easily worth it at that price.
It is amazing. Great Pads, Leads, Bass, etc.... The Developer put his old phase distortion synth inside of Mela and removed it from the App Store so it’s like 2 synths in 1, Plus there’s an additional AU for using all the FX available. So 3 apps, 2synths and an FX unit. I’m a beginner at sound design but this app has inspired me to create more presets from scratch then any other synth, even without a random patch creation feature.
And everything is exposed for some CC fun.
And the parameters are nested properly in sub-menus etc. There's a lot of attention to detail in this app. The only thing I don't like currently is the way the preset menu is done, that's far and away the app's biggest weakness.
