@RUST( i )K it might be good to change the thread title to something more descriptive.
Very interesting. ☹️
Thanks @RUST( i )K to post it.
Here’s an article from the Electronic Frontier Foundation on the topic.
Uhhh, this looks pretty shady, think I'll watch that video now. Thanks Homie!
Thanks

Got it my friend
Your loss
I am here a long time on this forum and respect it.
I didn’t have time in a car driving but figured the niceties could be withheld in lieu of the topics
importance.
Maybe just read the articles
I'm a conspiracy skeptic. I don't think this is some grand plot at play to strip us of our Liberties, rather just some poorly conceived legislation. To be sure, some of the Law-and-Order types are, no doubt, champing at the bit to get these backdoors in place, but why consider it a conspiracy when good, old fashioned Capitalism mixed with a large dash of "think of the children" can explain it just as well?
Enjoy the bonus GIF!
It is possible that if the social media comes platform is from any above countries likely users will be exposed no matter where they’re from. Just wondering.
Obviously governments can monitor you illegally if they want. No biggie for them. Fingerprints used to be for criminals. Now for many countries fingerprints are for passports.
I think there are many legislators on both sides of the aisle that focus on making us safer at the expense of our civil liberties. The Patriot Act was a similar bill pushed through, passed, and became law in response to 911. I would hope that citizens would look deeply into the effects of these types of bills rather than just reacting upon fears of terrorism or crime to support them.
Exactly. "Think of the terrorists" is another version of "Think of the children". Legislators often want to "do something" and that "something" is often poorly conceived legislation.
In this case a big part of the "something" is corporate maneuvering - lots of companies want to hurt the big tech platforms and dismantling Section 230 is an easy way to do that because they're doing it "for the children"

Now that you’ve said it probably it doesn’t. Still a worrying thing for the digital world.
