Me too. Obviously
I was being a contrarian by putting that version up. It's almost jaunty in a clowns-in-the-high-street kind of way.
In light of the subject matter this FAR more morose version is probably what's required and is certainly what I listen to on any Sunday when caught in need of something to believe in...and I listen to it a lot.
Sounds like a Spotify playlist in the making...
UK newspaper The Guardian has wonderful lists of songs related to almost any topic u could think of https://www.theguardian.com/music/2017/jan/26/readers-recommend-playlist-songs-about-doom
So for your seamless listening pleasure and convenience if you are a Spotify subscriber, an (almost) complete Spotify playlist of the above so far: (except where Spotify fell down on the job)
At 5 and a half hours (!) of doom beats to date it seems like dub is going to feature heavily on the Earth Dies Screaming dansette...

I’ve made it collaborative, so feel free to hop over to Spotify and add your own![:) :)](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/smile.png)
***addendum - seems to have thrown the Spotify algorithm for a loop. Top suggestion to add? Sylvester, ‘You Make Me Feel Mighty Real’. Although, I suppose intimations of mortality might have that effect...![:) :)](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/smile.png)
Top work.
I don’t subscribe to Spotify (although I have a Spotify for Artists account, does that qualify me to use it free?). For years I’ve eschewed ever signing up for subscriptions or any other form of monthly chiselling away of my money by outside parties. Call it a hunch, I just thought it was a safe measure just in case, one day, you know.
Some more torsion for the algorithm –![B) B)](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/sunglasses.png)

Yep, I tend to agree, I am very sub averse, and would never get an app that relied on them, for example. I spent over 50 years, some of that spent as a music journalist, carefully curating my taste for odd, hard to get and off piste things first on vinyl, cassette, mini disc (remember them?) CD, hard disc rips, usb... and I still have my ‘core collection’, and have even been know to buy the odd new cd, mainly as a gesture to support the artist.
BUT, I realised a couple of years ago that for a (relatively) small monthly rental fee I get to be a lot more adventurous in my musical tastes these days than I could ever afford to be spending that same fee on one, or maybe 2 hard copies of something over the same time period. So I have made my peace with paying the sub, and find I am listening to more music these days than I ever did before. It seems like a fair trade. I just wished the artists themselves got a fairer shake from their streams. And if the internet goes down, I may just have bigger things to deal with than sorting out my post apocalyptic soundtrack :]
Oh heck... the whole album of The Wall. Unrelenting gloom almost from start to finish. It feels like we have stumbled into the bleak landscape of the movie. But it’s pure art, and somehow shines a dark light.
Led Zeppelin. No Quarter.
Blessings, peace, and healing to all.
To the weary sick, and to the brave helpers...
“Walking side by side with Death
the devil mocks their every step
the snow drives back the foot that’s slow
the dogs of doom are howling more
They carry news that must get through
to build a dream for me and you
venture a path where no one has gone
They hold no quarter. They ask, they ask
No quarter”
