You're all contributing to Apple's financial success!
I always wondered why S.M.T.H. was never made on Android devices. It certainly belongs on that platform!
Here's some serious troll comment;
Im sick of synths that only sound like the eighties. I am sick and tired of softsynths and synth apps that want to emulate old crap. We have more than enough of them. I never bought iSem, iMini, iPolysix and iMS-20 and I never want them. Why.... because I listened to sound examples and all they can do is sound like the eighties. I also don't like Virsyn synths. Addictive Synth? Let me be the judge of that. I got iSyn Poly when it was on sale but I don't like it. I don't like the sound examples of the new microTera. But the Virsyn AudioReverb is awesome though. I don't like the sound of NLogSynth and Modular Synthesizer and 76 Synthesizer. And I don't want that weird iVCS3 app either.
You know what's funny? So many software that tries to emulate old Moog synths, and what does Moog do? They come up with something totally new; Anisotropic Synthesis. That's what I want, progression, new technologies. Impaktor, another awesome app. And there are many more cool synths that can make modern/progressive sounds like Sunrizer, Thor, Nave and Z3TA+, or new ways to edit sound like Samplr, the Sugar bytes apps or new types of sequencing like Korg Gadget.
Do you like eighties synths and some of those apps I mentioned? Be my guest and please don't be offended, it's just my personal taste and here is the right place for my rant.

A troll isn't going to respect your definition and @thinds definition is IMNSHO the more commonly accepted definition. I would also add that deliberately provoking people by your comments and bathing in the social chaos that ensues is too. So in true troll fashion I'd say you've opened Pandora's box with this thread and your play nice attempt at trying to stuff it all back into the box again is extremely naive yet typical of people who use Audiobus apps and goes a long way towards explaining why if their musical creations were put into a printed score, their most appropriate function would be for hippies who want to wipe themselves with recycled materials but haven't found a sufficiently reliable source to make it economically viable though of course hippies know nothing about economics, God, or good music but a lot about getting high, raising taxes, and telling the rest of us what we should be doing. Audiobus forum members haven't achieved nerd status yet as this implies a certain amount of competence not incontinence. To be fair people tend to experience hearing loss as they age and are drawn to the music of their youth which in this case involved a lot of 'shrooms, LSD, and weed. Go eat a brownie Fippie and play with your iFads made by Chinese slave labor while you're waiting for a bed to open up at the assisted living center and make sure you use headphones as the rest of us can still hear and haven't fried the parts of our brain used to process music. You might also want to stop using your grandson's pic for your profile just to be cool as your wrinkles are showing and we can smell the hemmaroid cream.
Trolls can ramble.
@Paulinko wow man, you definitely took it to another level. I started this thread because I got done in for straying off topic when commenting on other threads. I don't know if you're trolling for the sake of trolling but...
Whatever this thread turned into I'm glad for what it is. I completely dislike arrogant people who like insulting on forums (for whatever reasons). I may sound like a hippy but I truly feel that whatever you do, when you are within a community like this first thing on your mind should be respect for others. I didn't start this thread for people to try to put each other down but maybe for posting threads that don't fit elsewhere or maybe as a place to fool around since some on other threads are sensitive to people going off on a tangent. I don't give a shit what this thing turns into as long as people don't get hurt. Stuff that get posted on the internet has an ability to cause damage in REAL lives.
So to conclude, thanks for adding your perspective to the canvas. And no, I don't wish I could put it back in the box. This stuff has to come out somewhere and in many ways this may be a good place for it as there's a solid community of people who can absorb the punch if needed and respond in a thoughtful fashion.
As for the musical creations of AB users tangent you went off on. Man, you don't know any of the people who you're talking to I think you are overstepping the line. Are you talking about yourself maybe? It is ok to cry, you are in a safe place.
Trolls can ramble = whoever you are you know best what's eating you.
@Greg I'm totally with you man. I think this platform deserves more real innovative development to allow it to be used in a real world. +1 on that.
The pretentiousness of some people...
Guys if this thread is becoming a serious discussion I suggest making another one and having a serious discussion there.
Also: if you dislike someone misbehaving, telling them that they are by insulting or trolling them never - and I repeat NEVER - gets the job done.
@Greg Your name is so 80s...
@Paulinko You spelled cream correctly...

Point taken. Problem here is that here we have a problem with double trolling. Anyhow, it has been an interesting sociological experiment.
I've got nothing to add here. You people are some funky buffoons indeed.

Thought you said you had nothing to add?
I'm tempted to close this as I can't see how this thread actually does anything than potentially become some sort of breeding ground for actual arguments.
@Sebastian said:
You're welcome to do this. I didn't envisage (you'll wonder how) that this will become a breeding ground for real trolling. I'm out of here anyway.
I'd leave it for one more week, see what happens.
@Greg
I love those vintage synths. I think some of those synths are timeless and there's not enough of them on iOS yet. I guess it's a matter of taste. CMI Fairlight is one that I doubt I'll ever purchase for the same reason you dislike those synths.
Also, usually I can't help myself and buy all the IAPs of an app that I like but I couldn't justify buying Tabletops T-PAIN EFFECT. I think vocoders and talkboxes both have a cool sound but I'd rather hear someone singing badly than for them to use autotune.

I apologize for getting too enthusiastic about playing the role of a troll and will not post another.
My previous post was an example of the sorts of personal attacks, invoking of stereotypes, and general lack of respect trolls have. Trolls are one of the primary reasons forums have moderators so that the peace and tranquility of the online community isn't destroyed by a determined troll.
I think the best way to deal with trolls is to recognize they're often just out to push people's buttons and due to the anonimity of the internet they have few qualms about the tactics they're willing to use.
Problems can arise when someone perceives someone is engaged in trolling when they're simply expressing a difference of opinion. If the person is able to take an agree to disagree perspective with the other people in the forum, then the person isn't trolling in my opinion as a very strong characteristic of a troll is an unwillingness to let things go.
@firejan82 said:
Again, Im not trying to insult people (maybe Im not really trolling then) and there's nothing wrong with vintage synth emulations and the people who love them. It's just for my personal taste too much emphasis on emulating vintage synths instead of going forward, exploiting new technologies and more innovative development.
I just thought @Paulinko was playing the game (though really well). But, maybe he can answer: what the hell is a Fippie?

Fippie = an Apple fan boy over the age of 50 (FYI, I'm a Fippie.)
This forum is the biggest bunch of pussies I've ever seen. Except dwarman, who actually knows wtf he's talking about.
That said, good to have a thread like this to let some folks let off steam. It's steamy like a bath house around here.
Ok, continue to circle jerk each other to ecstasy in your little shitbox sandbox fuckbox
Fuck iOS , fuck audiobus and fuck you too! ;-)
Better late than never lol
