Feedback Wanted: Second Beat

I learned a bit from my first beat and I think I got the individual elements to stick out a bit more here.

Made on my iPhone 11 running 13.4. Created in Cubasis 3 using Micrologue, Lagrange, EG Pulse, and Shockwave. I then exported the stems into AUM where I did the final mix using TB EQ on each track, with TB EQ and Barricade on the master. The EQ on the master was just to cut off the extreme highs and lows.

    I like it mate.
Just a thought but could you have something coming through in the parts when it cuts out the beat instead of going completely dead.

Thank you. I had thought about that but couldn’t think of anything I liked. I went into it with the idea of having those hard cuts and I think I got stuck on that.

  • Groovy! Really like the 808 bassline. A little variation in the main riff would be cool. A break in the middle (before the variation), in a different key and/or tempo would be nice.

A tip for filling in the gaps is to use an atmospheric pad. It'll also set the mood of the track. A sinister pad would work here. High-pass filter it so it doesn't get in the way.
