Best Budget Ipad?

My 1st Gen Air is getting long in the tooth and I'm trying to figure out the best budget ipad to get. There are so many models now! The regular 7th Gen one seems pretty legit and not to expensive, around $300. Anyone have any recommendations? I just want to be able to run more AU3 synths at the same time.

  • 7th gen should be perfect upgrade for ya. I use a 6th gen and it’s a significant upgrade performance wise from my mini 4

  • Air 3! no doubt.

    Pro 10.5 easy to find second hand if that’s your thing.

  • Remember the headphone jack factor if that’s an important feature for you.
    I’m still getting on fine with my Air 2’s.
    I think I would rather have two Air 2’s than one Air 3.

  • I went from first gen Air to 3rd, no complaints. Has been great.

    That said, prior to giving it to my son, I had a 2018 iPad (6th gen?) and that was just fine too. Handled everything I threw at it really.

  • For the best budget iPad, all things being equal (and including Apple Pencil Support)

    Performance wise
    iPad Air 3rd/iPad Mini 5th -> iPad Pro 2017 -> iPad 7th Gen -> iPad 6th Gen

    Any of these iPads are great buys. I suspect the 6th gen would be the cheapest, due to how the 7th was recently released.

    Also, I am using a 6th Gen with 128GB of storage as my main device for almost 2 years.

  • I really don't like the base model iPad screens, the touch feels spongey because they don't use a laminated display. I went with used iPad 10.5s in the past and have been very happy.

  • ❤️ my iPad 6th Gen 128GB.. it’s been solid..

  • +1 6th Gen
