That's it, Grabule, it is a version with less features.
CR-8k and CR-5k are basically replics of Roland CR-8000 and CR-5000 and has the same differences.
This is what is missing on 5k :
Also, with today's versions of both, distant remote through Bluetooth LE midi is only supported on 8k.
They sound really amazing.it is just a little bit difficult to play in sync with other instruments without start and stop.
Could someone suggest me how to play them in audiobus or AUM. do you record them and you’ll use in fileplayer?
As an appoholic, I took the CR-8k and both DRM 16 32
There is no way to sync at present. I just record in AUM and then trim to a loop in AudioShare or Auditor and use that file. @DavidRochaix is working on AUv3 which should take care of that issue.
Thank you @anickt. I will do the same👍
My first drum machine was the Boss DR-55 which is the CR-8000’s baby brother. I got a lot out of it back in the day by using EQ and FX. Similar experience with @DavidRochaix apps. You can get samples of these drum machines and put them in any of today’s way sophisticated drum samplers but the overall effect (at least for me) is never the same.
Thank you for sharing your technique, Anickt. At the moment, my drum machines have been designed much more for live performance rather than for studio recording. Ableton Link and/or Audio unit will fix it if I succeed :-)
Exactly! Good luck! One thing that is cool about AUv3 is you can use MIDI Notes and CC's to control things like pushing the buttons or turning the knobs allowing you to record the MIDI of a performance and then go back and edit it before you commit it to audio. That would be fun but if you only ever get them to sync that will still be useful. Thanks @DavidRochaix
@DavidRochaix Auv3 would be amazing but Link is necessary. I’ve been waiting for this Drum Machine to get Link-ability.
@anickt I love the happy accidents too and agree that loading samples elsewhere really isn’t the same to a surprising degree.
@DavidRochaix Another idea re: building on the current models: you could treat the “added features” as IAP purchases if not separate apps as you mentioned. Speaking of: if you ever added simple step sequencing to either of the DRM apps that would be really Really nice. I like the idea of staying true to the originals but adding just enough optional extended expressive capability would be lovely.
I’d buy that IAP!
@DavidRochaix have you some updates about conversion of your apps in Auv3?
Just saw the update on AppStore. Any news about them being ported to auv3?
I’m interested in this too. CR-78 is my all time fave.
