Phonem is dead?

I tried to install Phonem on another device and couldn’t find it in the AppStore. Apparently it’s gone and I had to use my purchase history to retrieve it. I hope the dev is ok..

  • He's sold the company to another vst developer...there's a thread around somewhere about it. A shame yes, but he's ok, just retiring I guess.

Thanks, that’s reassuring to know. I wish the AppStore would be more specific about abandoned apps and show something different than a blank page, which not very useful.

  • I too will need to retrieve Phonem soon...or will I?
Not changing device...but changing Apple App Store...
Will I still be able to redownload it or use it please?
    Thanks...
And any other discontinued apps worth mentioning here?!
    IOSSOS.

  • keeping an iPad with ios13 just for these kind of apps

Everyone should message Dirk at Plugin Alliance and ask him to keep the iOS line alive. He’s keeping one eye on iOS because it was included in a recent survey question.

  • Is Klevgrand Pipa a good alternative?

No. I don’t think so. Pipa is fun but does not have the depth of Phonem.

  • Sorry to bother again..if I already have Phonem.....and change country Apple App Store.
    Can I still redownload it?
    Given that it’s unfortunately discontinued?

Any phonic building music app similar for iOS?!

    Thanks.

  • Presumably changing country store..I need to reinstall the app?

  • I cannot speak from experience, but I would think if you are changing country, you would be changing account, too.

I believe it would theoretically still be available from your original account, but your purchases probably don’t carry across to the new account.

Apple put some kind of restrictions in place about how often you can change country/account on a device, but I’m not sure what they are. At least for an app like this that will no longer be updated, that wouldn’t be a problem.

Hope that might be somewhat helpful.

(Still wish I’d bought this one myself. Missed the Palm bus waiting for a sale that never came.)
