FAWM - A couple of tracks from a (semi) productive month ;)

I tried Feb album writing month - which helped finish tunes, but with a 20 month old daughter, pregnant wife and a marathon next weekend, I never thought I'd get near 14 tracks!

Here's 2 of them... these are my first tracks done entirely on iOS (alt instrumental and electronica styles). Thanks to everyone who shares info, guidance & opinion on the forum - it's been a great help.

an alt instrumental thing with Guitarism and Nave and Auria

an electronica thing that started life in Stroke Machine and ended up in Auria

Any feedback welcome :)

  • Er... Ok... I'll get my coat!

  • Nice tracks @skoptic. I wouldn't take a lack of interest personally, there's a lot of soundcloud stuff out there, even just on this forum. I really liked A7, good vibe, love the beat coming in at a minute or so, keeps the track moving. I like the sounds in Grazer too, but I must admit I was kind of waiting for some type of lead to come in, perhaps a second guitar track on the higher strings. I don't know, I hate to tell people I would change something about their song, just a thought.

Good stuff man, keep on keeping on!

Put your coat back on the hook. Seems to be a quiet day all round here today.

Love Itchy, I'm a sucker for a slow electronic groove like that. Killer bass which must be from Stroke Machine I guess. Nice work.

  • Nice tracks @skoptic. You have a great sense of "atmosphere". Definitely movie soundtrack material. Agree with CSwinn, I love the start of Grazer, but felt like it didn't really develop fully.

  • Hey Guys,

Thanks for the feedback :) Yeah, I take the comments on Grazer totally. I usually make 'busy' electronica, and was trying something more stripped down, but I thought there might be a snack gap for other stuff in it. Kinda why I posted to get some perspective. (It's the first track I've used guitars in for 15 years!)

I'll keep it in the not quite finished yet pile (which is a busy pile ;))

    Thanks :)

  • @skoptic - really like the fact that it plays the gaps nicely as I also don't like "busy"... So don't change that :)

  • @skoptic: I really like that stuff, also think, Grazer is just right the way it is, has a lot of air, which I think perfect, keep up the good work!, cheers, tobias
