Love the raw wood look. And the reverse headstock.

  • So wait - were the flames under the coat of pink paint?

The end result looks incredible, frankly - excellent job. When I opened the post, I saw the pink guitar and immediately thought "Looks good - I'd play that!"

Then the second pic I thought "Flames?!?!?! SWEET!"

Then I saw where you were going with it. Not disappointed, just enjoyed the miniature emotional rollercoaster. Thanks for that ;)

Yep, them horrible flames were under the pink finish. This is the first guitar I’ve fully modded and I'm amazed with the result. My intention was not to be too anal about it, the little discrepancies really make a guitar stand out. All the hardware was originally boring black, i lightly sanded it but left some black showing. The floyd rose and pickup surrounds really came up a treat.

After sanding, i burnt the body and neck with a heatgun, the headstock a bit too much. It was tense burning the neck cos i was aware the fret glue could loosen so i had to move quickly.

The wax finish really came up nice, although it does mark quite easily, that will add character over the years. For me, this was a joy to do but hard work. Loads of info online about doing this certainly helped.
