Apollo 13 Real-Time Mission Experience. A website up now to mark the 50th anniversary of the lunar mission. You can toggle between the 59 different audio channels at Mission Control. Around 151 hours of audio including the 'problem' ...could be some great fodder for samples.

    For Mac there's free software called Piezo from Rogue Amoeba.. records audio coming from browser.
    For Windows theres Audacity or Soundtap, both free.

    Fairly sure all the NASA audio is up on the NASA site. There's loads of stuff there, including recordings of stars/nebula :)

    Also lots of videos.

    Cool thing is you can hear multiple channels in video mode and select individual channels in audio mode. You can really get lost for hours. And video (film) in sync when available too. 3 timelines on top make it simple to jump to any event.

    I’m pretty sure nasa doesnt copyright their material. It’s a public service since the American people pay taxes to fund it. It’s free to all though, not just Americans.

    I think any of the synced video footage is not cool to sample on the website without Stephen Slater’s permission, but the audio seems to be cool under the copyright at least from my interpretation. I am not a lawyer. This is neat website and thanks for posting BitterGums

    and i definately did get lost for a couple hours. also, for some reason when you select the 'Photography' tab to the left of 'Mission Control Audio' it plays all the 'official' audio and has a written transcript so you can follow along. and then that has a modern day commentary explaining what the hell is going on.

    pretty sure all the nasa audio is royalty free.

    @hogyard yeah no prob. i thought the UI was impressive and the audio offerings too goo not to post.
