Samplr-issue
Hello Gentlemen! I found a weird issue with Samplr (since the last two updates). It‘s in the outputslot in AB for sampling, then as an input in AB for the further mangled samples. All works fine. As soon, as I plug in my interface, the Apps that are feeding into Samplr (here: TC11, Bitwiz and Megacurtis) are not audible anymore. When trying to record anyways, there is also no signal recorded inside Samplr. This all happened on iPad Pro2 10“.
...Now the weirdest part: I also tried the exact same setup today with the iPad Pro3 11“,
and all worked reliably.
My interface is an aggregated device with IconnectMidi4+/Kmix/soundflower.
Maybe someone has an idea what‘s going on here? Can somebody try this with their own interface maybe? I‘m clueless. Thanks,
cheers, t

This could be an iOS & AudioBus issue as well (sample rate change, new inputs & outputs caused by connection the interface).
I always connect and launch 'everything' before starting (especially when AB/IAA is involved) to avoid connection issues...
Have you tried using any other apps in AB output slot to see if they behave the same when you connect the interface?
Thaks Samu. Good idea, I will try to switch samplerates. I did also try having everything connected (hardwarewise) and then either re-calling the setup in AB (it is part of a larger improvising set, with Aum and a few AUs), or newly launching each AB App. Same thing. Eject Samplr from output slot: sound comes back, relaunch Samplr there: sound is gone. well...
Having the same problem, did you ever found a solution? I can't get samplr to sample via audiobus through my iconnectaudio4+ audio interface. If I use it standalone it just works. Like @animal described, as soon as I put samplr into the output of AB nothing else is audible. Very weird. I am on the latest versions and the latest ipadOS16.2.
hey @n13 , since that post I usually connect everything in Audiobus/AUM, BEFORE connecting the iPad to the rest of the setup (Interface)(what @Samu proposed), and it all works reliably every time. A short check for sound before connecting to the setup, then connect, and it does sound. Good luck!
Hey @animal thanks for the tip. It makes no sense to me but it works if I open the apps and then connect my interface. Strange thing. Andre
Hello again!
This issue reared its ugly head, again… But now, Samplr just won‘t receive any input signal, when Through Audiobus into AUM (via Mixbus), as soon as an audiointerface is being plugged in… The above mentioned clue doesn‘t work anymore.
I‘m on iPad Pro M1 and M2.
My whole setup plays fine (with Samplr recording any of the Mixbus-inputs, but as soon as the Interface is being connected, the Samplr-in becomes silent…
Anybody else with this quirk?
Anybody with a solution…?
Cheers, t
Hey @animal I can confirm that sadly your trick does not work anymore on my iPad OS18.0.1 and latest audiobus 3.4.5 with samplr 1.5
Yes, I get around this for now by routing via iconnect-devices. I f you have a chance to route the signal via an interface, this is a workaround…
Developer is informed, but I don‘t think he has too much time on his hands for Samplr, nowadays…
I tried that too on my iconnect audio 4 but can only either get direct monitoring of my mic OR sound of samplr Can you give me a hint on your audiorouting or do you do it via the mix/submix page? Thanks. Andre.
Sure. You don’t need Audiobus at all for this.
In Aum you‘ll have to route the mixbusses (of the Apps you want to send to Samplr) to „Hardware output/IConnect 3/4“.
Inside „IConfig“ (or „reconfig“ on iPadOs) you go into „Audiopatchbay“, route out 3/4 to input 3/4 on your iPad bus.
Inside Samplr, when pressing „record“, you get a menue to select which input of your Audio4+, select input 3/4 here and start sampling away…
This, of course, implies you don‘t use the audio4+ outputs 3/4 not otherwise, already.
Let me know, if you need further help, cheers, t
Great stuff. Thanks.
