Backing up to cloud vs external hard drive
I have a gen 2 Ipad Pro 12.9 with 512gb hard drive. I have plenty of space on my drive, but I’ve been thinking about backups, since we know things can break and I’d rather be safe then sorry. My question is do you think it’s better to back up everything to the cloud or external drive? Or Both? Also, I’m hesitant about using icloud or any service really because I worry about hackers. As for external drives.... I’ve tried to do my research, but not sure really what would be a good option. Any advice would be appreciated.

I prefer the cloud. Easier to manage across devices. Also, only particular formats work for iOS/Macs.
Both here.
Local for immediate use. iCloud for intermediate storage. Dropbox for long-term.
How do you even back up to external drive? I’d like to do this.
