app that shows exotic scales on guitar freboard?
Been trying to get into exotic scales lately and its not always easy to find visual reference for them on guitar fretboard. For instance I'm working with the C# Romanian Minor scale and would love to have a handy app that would show me the scale mapped on the guitar fretboard. What is the most comprehensive app in regards to this please?

Don’t get me wrong. This is how I learnt scales when I played the bass. Writing them down was a good learning strategy (for me)
I thought of that and I agree it would be good and I may end up going that route but now, trying to finish up a few songs I'd like the ease of having a visual guide. I appreciate the good advice though!
hmmm.. I don't see access to any scales in fret tester. I'm probably missing something.

When I was a kid I used a hole-puncher to make little round tape dots and put them on my fingerboard.
Isn’t there some kind of toy guitar trainer that lights up dots on the fingerboard?

Thanks for pointing out @cem_olcay ! Yay! so glad to find a fretboard app like this. Can I make my own tunings and have them show up on the fretboard too? That would be amazing, then I can just add to the scale library myself...
I get it now, I can create "tunings" not custom scale which I can edit the notes of the fretboard on the graphic display.
But, is good for what I need right now. Would love to see this expanded into a fretboard editor!

This seems equivalent to the “tell me what key a song is in” apps. This is work you need to do yourself if you want to improve your musicianship. I see no utility from farming this out to an app. Using the app to check your own work might be useful—but only if you trust the app to be correct.
I support any app that gets people motivated to play their guitars. They're not spending my money so, it's all good from my POV

Yes it is expensive! But it is probably the best Scale app for guitarists on iOS
Once in a blue moon they get reduced. I think I got it for 20% off.
What is great about this app is it shows you a lot of fingerboard layouts per Scale and 2,3,4 notes per string layouts which is really great. This one and Guitar Toolkit will keep you busy for a few years! The way to justify the price is if you took an hours lesson with a top guitarist

If you search around the net you can find quite a few free Scale books ..... hint mostly for Saxophonists who are much better at scales than guitarists , one I found was called the Scale Omnibus . No fingerboard layouts of course but you could do your own with this free in browser diagram and screen shot your own.

Jam along with Indian records , like Ali Akbar Khan and you learn a lot ! They often go up in one Scale and descend in another.

I endorse this saxophonist's books, although I cheated by buying the versions of the books adapted for guitar by adding guitar tab and guitar-specific advice. Also, the ones that I got are not really scale books, and they're not free although I did buy them on sale.

So, I got Scalebud cause it has the Roumanian Minor and was thrilled cause I could do glissando runs using it. But the thrill was gone when I discovered there is no C# (or Db) key which happens to be the scale I'm working in. @cem_olcay Just wondering why some are left out?
