Useful video. Thanks!
Funny... more than once has someone mentioned an app & I go to have a look & it's nowhere to be found on the App Store. I don't know if it's a misspell, the full name isn't included, or what... back to my comment on the iOS 7.1 update thread! :-{

Synthdrum Pads or just synthdrum will do. Why are you having issues with finding apps? Are you using the AppStore on your iPhone or on your iPad? (The AppStore app, not the one named "iTunes")
Good video as usual. This dev is definitely a very talented graphics designer! I think the drum synth itself is just too limiting at the moment, especially when compared against monsters like SeekBeats which is in the same price range last I checked. Something that will add to creating snares (which is one of its weak sides IMO). Makes great kicks though. Remove the 4 save slots, use a menu system, and unlimited saves is another thing that would be great to see.
explosive expulsion of air...
OK... I might have a theory as to what's up:
Could it be that the iOS 7.1 update caused the App Store search engine to display or behave differently than it did before? I keep being told that iPad apps won't show up in a search on an iPhone, but I can tell you that when I searched for such before I didn't get a blank page or a page that states "no results" - I was getting to pages that AT LEAST indicated that there is such an app in existence (whether it was iPhone-compatible or not is NOT the issue here): the page would show the app's icon and indicate that the app was only for iPad. Now it seems things are no longer displayed this way, because I can't repeat what would happen just days ago... all I get now is the "not found" page with the magnifying glass. The 7.1 update is the only thing that's changed.
Shoot, now I can't even find out without asking ya'll whether or not the apps ya'll are discussing are iPhone-compatible or not, or at least go have a look-see at what I'm missing... my apologies for earlier comments on this subject.
@ChrisG. What I really like about this app is the delay function, where you can create some really interesting, random beats on the fly. The sequencer sweetens the deal. You don't have to use it. Control over tone is simply implemented too. It's a handy little beatbox.
Oh, lookee what happened again!
Been telling ya'll about seeing these pages on the App Store search when I go to look for an app that someone mentions (and who do not mention anything about whether it's iPad or iPhone or universal), and several of you kept telling me that I can't see iPad stuff on an iPhone - no, I can't get the regular info page for the app in question, but I told you that I was getting a page (that at least answers a question of compatibility). I've attached a screenshot of my iPhone, taken today, showing the type of page that I have been getting & being told I couldn't... has NO ONE ever seen this particular type of page? Guess what - the answer lies in the fact that most you have iPads or iAirs or whatever & probably never have to see this. Obviously, the iOS 7.1 update hasn't changed anything... it does happen. I NEVER claimed I was getting app info...
@Brain
Yes I've seen it many times. It'll show up on the iPhone when you click on an iTunes/AppStore link that leads to an iPad-only app.
I was just noticing that, @ChrisG.
I'd like to understand, though, why one gets two different results when you click a link to an iPad app & see the app icon page & blurb about it being an iPad app... as opposed to using the App Store search function and getting the 'no results found' page. Why? A noob could be tempted to get an iPad to take advantage of the app if said noob doesn't have the confusing experience of expecting to find out something about what he or she is looking for consistently. If I can get this info on my iPhone by clicking a link, why not when I search for it?
Bumping this one because I came across Doug's video and read about SynthDrum Pads in an article somewhere. It looks a bit limited, and reminds a ton of the Tokyo machine from inside Korg Gadget (Synth drums; 4 pads). But man do I love that interface.
The bass/kick sounds seem pretty good, though I wasn't thrilled with the snares in Doug's video. That's all a matter of taste, of course. The easter egg synth/drum machine in Caustic could probably do much of this too, but I like the idea of a standalone.
Anybody used this over the past few months that could let me know what they think? Early reviews were skewed by the lack of AB and other features, but the app has actually been somewhat regularly supported. Thanks!

I see your bump and I raise you another based on the same desire to hear from anyone who's using this. Getting to the point where I'm interested in the words 'elegant' 'simple' and 'usable' even if something lacks a few other elements.

You need to check out my new video for Elastic Drums, its a pre release but I think alot of us are going to find this really useful, it has a thread
@thesoundtestroom - Yes, I am aware of that app (Elastic) and they do look a bit similar.
If this app were 3.99 - I'd just apply the donut and coffee rule and try it out. 7.99 is a bit much to have repeated swings and misses on apps, so I thought I'd ask around.
My sense of it is that it might be nice for creating a particular tone (like a synthy, booming, bass drum) and then capturing it as a wav file for use in something else. I'm a bit skeptical of these rhythm apps that have only 4 instruments, or even 6 tracks (as is the case with the new WR6000 from WeJaam). That's just a bit thin for variety, especially if you want "tom" sounds at different pitches or a variety of "hat" sounds.
