Retrieve legacy apps from iTunes backup. Here is a how to!
I saw some threads about coping old apps that are not available in the app store anymore to a new device. Here is a solution that I found working for me in the past copying .ipa app files from an iTunes backup.
You might want to google a bit about this to make it working for you. Hope this makes some PPG fans happy!

I understand this method only to work with old versions of iiTunes and iOS that copied IPA files. The article mentions that it works if you backed up your iDevice with an old version of iTunes.
Remember that most apps no longer in the App Store can still be downloaded via purchased items.
